The Act conferred powers for the Protection of Highways and Places of Scenic Beauty and vested authority in the Ceylon Tourist Board for the Registration and Classification of Tourist Hotels and all other tourist services including travel agencies. The Tourist Development Act of 1968 provided the Ceylon Tourist Board with the statutory authority to develop tourism on a planned and controlled basis</p><p style="margin-bottom: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0px; text-align: justify;">In October 2007 the Tourism Act No 38 of 2005 came into effect. With the circulation of the new Tourism act, the Sri Lanka Tourist Board Act No 10 of 1966, which was in effect for the past 41 years, was replaced.</p><p style="margin-bottom: 0px; text-align: justify;"><br></p><p style="margin-bottom: 0px; text-align: justify;">In terms of the provisions contained in the new act, the Tourism Development Fund was legally constituted, with 2 main sources remitting finances to the fund. By way of 1/3 of the Airport Tax collections and 1% of the Turnover of all Sri Lanka Tourist Board registered establishments. The Act provided for the setting up of the Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority, Sri Lanka Promotions Bureau, Sri Lanka Convention Bureau and Sri Lanka Institute of Hotel Management, thereby replacing the Sri Lanka Tourist Board.</p>

Sri Dalada Maligawa or the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic is a Buddhist temple in the city of Kandy, Sri Lanka. Since ancient times, the relic has played an important role in local politics because it is believed that whoever holds the relic holds the governance of the country. Kandy was the last capital of the Sri Lankan kings and is a World Heritage Site mainly due to the temple. On Wednesdays there is a symbolic bathing of the relic with an herbal preparation made from scented water and fragrant flowers called Nanumura Mangallaya. This holy water is believed to contain healing powers and is distributed among those present.

Royal Botanical Garden attracts 2 million visitors annually. It is renowned for its collection of orchids. The garden includes more than 4000 species of plants, including orchids, spices, medicinal plants and palm trees.&nbsp;&nbsp;

The temple is located in the village of Seetha Eliya (also known as Sita Eliya). This place is believed to be the site where Sita was held captive by King Ravana, and where she prayed daily for Rama to come and rescue her in the Hindu epic, Ramayana. On the rock face across the stream are circular depressions said to be the footprints of Lord Hanuman.

Step outside to admire the small surrounding shrines and enjoy sweeping vistas over Kotmale Reservoir Lake. It was believed that Sri Hanumanji set his feet in these holy hills when he was in search of Sitaji. This grand temple is now a great monument where the 16 ft idol of Lord Hanuman is the Moola Murti.

This was our first trip at abroad, we were having lots of questions with us how will be the company, will get Jain food and many more but with flamingo the answers was yes we got best company and excellent food all over the trip. We didn't only get Jain food but we got full Gujarati dish "Shikhand Puri", "Pani Puri", "Puran Puri", and many Indian dishes, it was really very surprising for us. <div>With flamingo tours, it was our 1st trip which is made a memorable one. Our tour manager Mr. kushal shah is just perfect guide.</div>
<div>On the very first day <span style="font-weight: bold;">Mr. Kushal shah</span> wanted us to have a great bonding amongst each other so that we get the best experience possible. He always tried to serve the best food and at the proper time. The thing that was best in him was that he always shared some or the other things related to the place we were visiting in an interesting manner. Mr kushal shah tried to give information about the place in an easy language understoodable by every participant and never meant to behave partial with anyone. A negative or say a sad point&nbsp; was that the Orlando hotel which was felt comparatively poor quality. We were given quality shopping time and he also enlisted what activities are to be done in parks that are the best in that particular part. It was overall a very good and unforgettable experience.&nbsp;</div>
