Wall_Street.jpg

Guided City tour of New York City.

The tour departs daily at 10 AM on 7th Avenue, between 50th & 51st Streets and ends at 4 PM at the same location.

After a drive through the Times Square area, the first stop is at Central Park West and 72nd Street, at the Dakota Building (former home of John Lennon). The stop includes a short guided walk into Central Park to visit the Strawberry Fields with the Imagine mosaic dedicated to John Lennon, as well as the views of other sites in the area such as the luxury condominiums that numerous celebrities call home. We'll also drive by Central Park Zoo, famous Plaza Hotel and Carnegie Hall.

The second stop on the tour is Rockefeller Center, for views of St. Patrick's Cathedral, the location of the ice skating rink and Christmas Tree, and NBC's Today Show set.

The third stop is Madison Square Park - the original location of Madison Square Garden Arena. This area
provides spectacular views of dramatic architecture featured in numerous books and films: the Flatiron Building (Godzilla, Spider-Man), the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company Tower (The Runaway Skyscraper, Futurama), and the Empire State Building (King Kong, Independence Day).

The tour continues with a drive through some of the iconic NYC's neighborhoods, such as Greenwich Village, Soho, Chinatown, and the Financial District.

En route to the fourth stop, we drive by Wall Street for views of the New York Stock Exchange, Federal Hall (the location of the first Capitol Building of the United States), Trinity Church, and a drive by the famous Charging Bull sculpture on Broadway.

The fourth stop is the World Trade Center, as we visit the 9/11 Memorial. The tour does not include entry into the 9/11 Museum, but visitors can walk the grounds of the Memorial, visit the waterfalls of "Reflecting Absence," (the footprints of where the original twin towers stood), and see the Survivor Tree that stood up to the destruction of 9/11.

Around 1 pm, we'll stop for a quick lunch break at the Fulton 55 Market.

The fifth stop is at Pier 15 for the 2:30 pm Hornblower International Sightseeing Cruise (note: in off-season, between Jan 1 - Apr 1, in lieu of boat cruise, guests visit Grand Central Terminal) to experience magnificent views of the Manhattan and Brooklyn skylines, iconic Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Williamsburg bridges, Governor's Island, Ellis Island, and a 360 degree turn in front of the Statue of Liberty for amazing photo opportunities!

The boat docks back at Pier 15 in Midtown Manhattan, where we board our bus to continue the tour, as we drive back to our original departure point on 7th Avenue.

Circle Around Statue of Liberty tour

"New York’s fabulous skyline comes alive as you stare up from the water at the awesome skyscrapers during this 75 minute Liberty Cruise. A scintillating trip along the famous Hudson River will enthrall you with the fascinating story and development of this diverse cosmopolitan city as you see sights such as the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, the historic immigration centre and the striking skyscrapers of the World Financial Centre.

Known as the Land of the Free, the American shores drew people from all over the world to live the American Dream. The image of a better life of political freedom and the opportunity for individual advancement and prosperity attracted those with an entrepreneurial spirit. For many who desired to begin a new life, this area of the Hudson marked their entrance into the new world. The symbol which perhaps best captured the hopes and dreams of so many is the Statue of Liberty, also known as our lady of Liberty.

You can sail the very waters that brought 12 million immigrants to the shores of the US, gaze in awe at the statue that symbolised a new life for so many and see Ellis Island, which for some would be the closest they would get to realising their dreams. Then catch sight of the skyscrapers of the World Financial Centre reflected in the same water, perhaps the modern day symbols of enterprise and success.
