Day wise travel itinerary

  • Day 1 :Srinagar - Pahalgam

    Arrive Srinagar Airport, meet assistance and proceed to Pahalgam. In the south-east of Srinagar situated at an altitude of 2130 mts. above sea level. It is Kashmir’s most popular resort surrounded by high mountains, dense forests, high mountain lakes, it also offers 9 hole golf course, skiing, pony trails, angling (rainbow & brown trout’s) horse ridding, trekking (both hard & soft) & various places of interest in & around like Aru valley, Lidderwat valley, Kolhai glacier, Shesh Nag, Chandanwari(route to holy cave), Baisam & Mamil famous for 9th century old (Shiva Temple) thus happens to be a preferred spot among domestic tourists. Check in at the hotel & freshen-up.  Evening free at leisure. Return back to hotel for dinner & overnight stay.

  • Day 2 :Pahalgam - Srinagar

    Morning after breakfast proceeds to Srinagar. On arrival check in at the Deluxe Houseboat.  Later enjoy relaxing boat ride by (Shikara) to explore the Dal-lake, waterways, backwaters, canals, Floating Gardens, Vegetable\ Gardens, Water Lilies, Lotus, Easily accessible Mobile Venders, Floating handicraft centre & inherited lifestyle of people living inside the Lake since decades. Return back to Dlx. houseboat/hotel for lunch ( at own cost ) Evening visit to famous Mughal Gardens Cheshma Shahi, Nishat, Shalimar collectively known as Mughal Gardens are contribution of the great Mughal laid out in the 16th century & these fall along the bank of Dal-lake in the heart of Srinagar city & Shankaracharya Temple located on a hillock thus providing panoramic view of entire city, along the famous Dal-lake & river Jehlum, enroute visiting  handloom centre famous for production of Pashmina / Shahtoos shawls & world over reckoned carpets. Return back to Houseboat for dinner & overnight stay.

  • Day 3 :Srinagar - Gulmarg - Srinagar (112 KMS)

    Leave after Breakfast for full day excursion to Gulmarg”Meadow of wild flowers” lies in the west of Srinagar at a distance of 56 kms. On an altitude of 2730 Mts. above sea level, snow capped mountains are all around one can even have a view of Nanga Parbat on a clear sunny day. It is Premier winter sports Ski resort For Skiers with one of the world’s highest 18 hole golf courses. For joy seekers, cable car up to Alpather via Khilanmarg by Asia’s long run cable car ride ( at own cost ) approx. 5 kms. Evening return back to Dlx. Houseboat for dinner & overnight stay.

  • Day 4 :Srinagar - Kargil

    Leave after breakfast from Srinagar to Kargil and enjoy the Natural Beauty. Continue your drive to Kargil. On arrival check in at the hotel. Dinner & over night stay at Kargil.

  • Day 5 :Kargil - Lamayuru - Leh

    Leave Kargil for Leh, enroute visit Lamayuru Gompa .The Lamayuru ‘’Yungdug’’Gompa is remarkably built on a rock around 125 kms west of Leh.  Continue your drive for Leh. On arrival check in at Hotel. Dinner and overnight stay in Hotel at Leh.

  • Day 6 :Leh - Alchi - Leh

    This morning after breakfast, visit Alchi, (3500 m / 11500 ft) a small village in the Indus Valley, 67 km west of Leh. Abandoned centuries ago the gompa or monastery is known as Chos-kor or religious enclave and comprises of five temples. En route, view the majestic Sangam - Confluence (where two rivers meet each other). Zanskar is the river formed from the junction of two streams, Lungnak means "dark gorge" and Stod, which carries the melt water of the great Drang-drung glacier. Also, view the marvelous Magnetic Hill, a gravity hill located near Leh. The hill is alleged to have magnetic properties strong enough to pull cars uphill and force passing aircraft to increase their altitude in order to escape magnetic interference. Then, visit Military Hall of Fame, a glorious museum constructed by Indian army. You can see biographies of eminent defense personalities, images and weapons used during Kargil war, Siachen and its heroes and their daily instruments and lifestyle of Ladakhi people. You will also visit Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, a beautiful Gurudwara constructed in the memory of Guru Nanak, about 25 miles away from Leh and Spituk Monastery, famous for its wide and varied collections of ancient masks, icons, antique arms and numerous Thangkas. The rest of the day is at leisure. Overnight at Leh.

  • Day 7 :Leh - Nubra Valley: (160km / 4Hour, 35Min Approx)

    Morning drive to Nubra Valley 125km crossing Khardongla Pass 18360 ft, the world highest motor able pass. Afternoon visit Diskit & Hunder Monasteries along with the 100ft tall Maîtrea Buddha statue. Members will also visit the silvery sand dunes with perhaps a Double humped Camel Safari. Overnight at the deluxe tent.

  • Day 8 :Excursion to Turtuk

    This morning, after breakfast visit Turtuk. On the way visit Diskit Monastery. Turtuk is the last village on the Indian side of the border and was taken over by the Indian Army during the Kargil War. You will be mesmerized by the beauty and the Simplicity of Turtuk and its people. The rest of the evening for leisure. Overnight in Nubra Valley.

  • Day 9 :Nubra Valley - Pangong: (275km / 7Hour , 10Min Approx)

    Morning after breakfast drive to Pangong. Visit beautiful Pangong Lake forms a part of the border area between India and China. This large lake is an altitudeof14, 000 feet above the sea level has variation of colors. Overnight stay at deluxe tent.

  • Day 10 :Pangong - Leh: (225km / 5Hour, 10min Approx)

    After breakfast drive back to Leh. Evening free in Leh bazaars for last minute shopping. In Leh items like pure Pashmina shawls, good pearls, Chinese cutleries and beautiful Ladakhi wooden handicrafts can be purchased. En route visit Thiksey and Hemis Monastery. Overnight at the Hotel.

  • Day 11 :Leh Local Sightseeing

    This morning after breakfast, proceed to visit Shanti Stupa built by Japanese monks to promote world peace. This large hilltop stupa has brightly colored reliefs on its mid-levels and is topped by a spired white hemisphere (smoking is prohibited here). Lastly, visit Leh Palace, dilapidated yet interesting, which was built in the 17th century in the grand tradition of Tibetan architecture. Lastly visit Leh Market. Overnight at leh.

Shalimar Bagh Mughal Garden

Located on the banks of the ancient Dal Lake, Shalimar Bagh is the largest Mughal garden in the Kashmir Valley and thus it is one of the most famous tourist attractions of Srinagar. This adorable masterpiece, also known as 'house of love', was originally called 'Farah Baksh', which literally means 'delightful'.

Surrounded by tall poplar trees and many colourful flowers, Shalimar Bagh presents tourists with a serene atmosphere. It also boasts of a beautifully designed canal, which passes through the center of the garden, adding to its charm.

The main attraction of Shalimar Bagh is 'Chini Khanas'. In these 'Chini Khanas', oil lamps were lit at night, which produced glare. At the present time, however, these 'Khanas' are adorned with flower pots, which are also delightful.

Enjoy a Shikara Ride on Dal Lake

The  Shikhara is a traditional gondola type light rowing boat mostly seen on the ancient Dal Lake apart from other lakes. It is one of the most incredible and relaxing aspects of a holiday in Kashmir, and if you want to experience the full beauty of the region, it should be included in your itinerary. Along with the houseboat, it is also considered a cultural symbol. But apart from leisure and tourism purposes,  Shikhara is also used by locals for seaweed harvesting, fishing and transportation. Seeing these boats beautifully adorned on the lake is a treat for the eyes, and you should not miss this experience during your vacation in Jammu and Kashmir.

Hazratbal Shrine Mosque

Known as the holiest sanctum in Kashmir, Hazratbal is the place where a Prophet Mohammad is kept. Hair is also known as 'relic' or Moi-e-Muqaddas. The word Hazrat means sacred/revered and stands for Bal place, thus when the word is put together it means 'holy place' or 'revered place'. In general, tourists find the Hazratbal Shrine as an important place to visit in Srinagar, while Muslim devotees from all over the country visit this sacred shrine once in their lifetime.

The Holy Child of the Prophet is publicly displayed on some occasions such as Prophet Mohammad and his four main companions Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique, Hazrat Umar ibn Khattab, Hazrat Usman ibn Affan and Hazrat Ali. Such occasions include many devotees and tourists from across the country.

Chashma Shahi Garden

Primarily famous for its natural spring, Chashme Shahi Garden is part of the Mughal Garden, and is a must-see in Srinagar. The natural spring in this top attraction in Srinagar attracts the eyes of tourists. It believed to have been discovered by the great female saint Rupa Bhavani of Kashmir, spring got her name from her clan and was originally called 'Chashme Sahib'. Commissioned by Mughal Emperor, Shah Jahan for his elder son, Dara Shikoh, Chashme Shahi was built by his governor Ali Mardan in 1632.

Chashme Shahi is a three-terraced garden through which flows the water of the natural spring. On the top terrace of the garden, a double storey hut is built which is believed to be the origin source of the water. The gardens have the Persian/Iranian influence in its architecture and well-manicured offering a visual treat to the visitors.

Tourists visited this attraction in Srinagar to drink the water of this spring, which is believed to have medicinal properties. It is to be noted that, even in the extreme summer season, water is always colder than spring.

The time from April to October is the best time to visit Chashme Shahi. During this time of the year, the weather is suitable for tourism. The garden is at full bloom during May and June.
