- Day 1 :Cochin - Kumarakom - (50 Kms, 2 Hrs)Arrive Kochi also known as Cochin, is a city in Kerala state of south India. The city is popularly & adorably known as the “Queen of the Arabian sea” as it has one of the finest natural harbors in the world. Meet the assistance/driver and transfer to Kumarakom. Kumarakom – It’s a small town located on the backwater lagoons of Vembanad Lake in the southern state of Kerala, India. It is famous for it is natural beauty. Kumarakom is like the gemstone of Kerala with an emerald green surrounding, a labyrinth of canals, lakes and backwater, migratory birds soaring across the sky. The town has a concoction of varieties.On arrival at Kumarkom check into the hotel. After freshen up visit Kumarakom Beach – The tranquil location of the Kumarakom beach is located at the kottayam district. The alluring beauty of the coastline with its pristine sand & smooth waters is what attracts the visitors. - Day 2 :Kumarakom - Alleppey - (34 Kms, 1 Hr)Early morning visit to the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary (Entry Fees applicable as per actual), where a significant number of bird species are known to make migratory visits. Birds like the Siberian crane, egret, heron, waterfowl, ducks, moorhens and Kingfisher are commonly found. Return back take breakfast check out from the hotel & depart for Alleppey.Alleppey – India’s Venice of the East check in to the houseboat traditionally called as ‘Kettuvallam’. Alleppey occupies a prominent place in the tourist map of Kerala interlocked with lakes and canals. The vast stretch of paddy fields of Kuttanad, which is popularly known as the ‘rice bowl of Kerala,’ is in this district. Enjoy the beauty of backwaters of Kerala and view lush green paddy fields. Lunch & Dinner will be in the houseboat. Overnight stay at houseboat in Alleppey.

Thrill yourself with water activities at Kumarakom beach
Apart from the outdoor activities to be enjoyed in the serene backwaters of Kumarakom, a leisurely visit to the beach is a must. At the beach you can indulge in thrilling and extreme activities – from water skiing, wind surfing, parasailing to more laid-back one like boating, sunbathing and swimming. The best time to visit Kumarakom beach is in winter when the scorching heat takes a backseat. The beach is home to many hotels and resorts that offer many water sporting opportunities.

Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary
The beautiful Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary is located in Kottayam district in Kumarakom, Kerala. The sanctuary is located in the enchanting backwaters of Kerala on the banks of Lake Vembanad, which is why it is also known as the Vembanad Bird Sanctuary. Kumarakom is one of the most famous tourist attractions in Kerala, home to many native and migratory birds. A wide range of rare birds make it an attractive place for birdwatchers.
There is an exciting walk of about 2 kilometres to reach the end of the site and people can see various birds walking on the trail. The trip itself is amazing as there is a small butterfly garden on the way. One Can spot a number of rare and exotic species of birds. To name a few, there are Waterfowl, Cuckoo, Brahminy Kite, Siberian Crane, Parrot, Flycatcher, Lark, and numerous migratory birds from the Himalayan region.
One can also take a boat ride in Vembanad Lake and enjoy picturesque scenery when surrounded by bright blue water.
The best time to visit the sanctuary is from November to February as migratory birds from different parts of the world come here at this time. It can also be seen during June to August, as there can be lots of local birds.
