- Day 1 :Cochin - Thekkady (160 Kms, 4 Hrs)Arrive Kochi also known as Cochin, is a city in Kerala state of south India. The city is popularly & adorably known as the “Queen of the Arabian sea” as it has one of the finest natural harbors in the world. You’ll be assisted & transfer to Thekkady.Thekkady: This is a perfect destination for anyone who loves wildlife and nature. Everyone who visits can vouch for the wildlife, natural beauty, and thick evergreen forest. As you wind your way up the road, the wooded terrain clears to reveal a breathtaking plantations, Fill your lungs with fresh mountain air; savor the rich fragrance of cinnamon and cloves. Thekkady is situated 2800 ft above sea level.Enroute visit Spice Plantation: The geographical and climatic peculiarities of Kumily such as the cool climate and its elevation from the sea level make it ideal for spice cultivation. One of the major spices produced in the area is cardamom. The variety, Cardamom Small, botanically known as Elettaria Cardamom, is the one that is mostly grown here. The thick shrub-like cardamom plant usually grows at an altitude of 600 to 1200 meters from mean sea level (msl). Kerala contributes about 70 percent of the national production of cardamom with the major chunk coming from the plantations of Kumily.The pepper plantations are something else that are worth seeing. On arrival check into hotel.Evening you can enjoy Martial art /Kathakali dance at Mudra Center at additional cost. The Mudra Cultural centre is popular for Kalaripayattu martial arts and Kathalkali performances. Kathakali shows at this cultural centre are highly entertaining. Make-up and costume starts 30 minutes before each show. Use of still cameras is free and welcome. Arrive early for a good seat. - Day 2 :ThekkadyToday early Morning After Breakfast, proceed for an exciting boat ride on the Lake Periyar South India’s most popular wildlife sanctuary. This is the only wildlife sanctuary in India that offers the unique opportunity of viewing wild life in their natural habitat at close quarters from the safety of a boat on the lake. Enjoy a boat ride in the lake & tickets to be purchased by queue only at additional cost and if you are lucky you can watch young elephants drinking at the water’s edge. Later enjoy elephant ride at elephant junction (Additional cost) if you love the sight of elephants, then Elephant Junction is one of the ideal places to visit. - Day 3 :Thekkady - Gavi - Thekkady (40 Kms, 1 Hr 15 Minutes One Way)After breakfast proceed for a Jeep Safari at an extra cost to Gavi for a day trip. Gavi: With its mist enveloped hills, pristine forests, fine tea estates and breathtaking scenery, Gavi is like a piece of heaven on Earth, untouched and still beaming with glory. This picturesque destination lives up to the state tag-“God’s own country” and is ravishing and mesmerizing enough. Gavi is mainly known for its wildlife. Endangered species including the Nilgiri Tahr and Lion-tailed macaque are often sighted at the outskirts of Gavi. Kerala’s very own treasure elephants are often sighted abundantly. If you're the bird watcher, Gavi is the place for you. With over 260 species of birds including the great pied hornbill, woodpecker, and kingfishers, Gavi may be a heaven for birdwatchers. Spice Plantation

Kerala is one among 50 most preferred tourist destinations in the world. The beautiful land is blessed with hill stations like Thekkady which is known as the spice belt of India.
Periyar Spice and Ayurvedic Garden is situated on the Munnar - Thekkady Road. Here they have a wide range of spices like Cardamom, Pepper, Cloves, Cinnamon, Nutmeg etc. and Herbs like Aloe Vera, Red Sandal, Amla, Lemon, Grass, Eucaluptus, Vetrivert, etc. and a wide range of Orchids , flowers and for the bird lovers a lot to see.
It is about getting to know more about nature and agriculture of Kerala through firsthand experience. To enjoy the nature along with understanding the agricultural operations includes farming, harvesting and processing of spices and coffee. The well trained guides will give you a brief explanation about the history and importance of spices and herbs while walking through the plantation, which will improve your culinary skills and will educate on the herbal garden- learning about their healing qualities and benefits.
You can ask your travel operator/hotel staff to guide you where and how you can visit one of these gardens and also stop at plantations growing world-famous Kerala spices. In fact, you should not leave Thekaddy without buying some of these spices as they are top notch quality and reasonably priced because you can buy it directly from the people who are growing them.
Approx. entry fees to this spice plantation is INR 250 - 350 per person + incase if you shop anything from the place. Its altogether worth a visit.

The Mudra Cultural centre
Mudra Cultural Center Kalaripayattu is popular for martial arts and Kathakali performances. Kathakali shows in this cultural center are highly entertaining. Makeup and attire begin 30 minutes before each show. There are also two Kalaripayattu performances every night. There is a one-hour show in the evening from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm and 8:00 pm to 9:00 pm.
The center area is designed in a very attractive manner, keeping in view the safety and security of the audience. The martial arts performed here are not just for entertainment purposes, but also to teach people self-defence exercises in a very efficient manner. The pursuit takes place in a spacious and Charming designed gallery, which gives its guests a clear vision of the program from a safe distance. Many spectacular performances can be seen in the center which will leave you spellbound. The show can be watched and thoroughly enjoyed by your family as well as friends.

Go for Periyar Boat Ride
Thekkady, also known as Periyar, is one of the most attractive natural wildlife sanctuaries in India, where you can see wildlife closely. The flora, flora and fauna and birds of Thekkady are uniquely rich, vast and diverse. The word Thekkady combines images of elephants, uniting the hills and chains of spice scented plantations. Boating on the Periyar Lake helps tourists keep a close eye on the wildlife living in the surrounding forests. Groups of elephants, wild boar, bison and sambar can be seen walking the forest. And water birds, sitting on tree leaves with their wings spread, offer a delightful scene while boating.Boat cruise is most liked by all tourists. This is the best way to spot wild animals such as elephants, wild boar and others. Deer are very common to spot near the edges of the water body. Note:The Given Cost is Estimated. Thekaddy in Idukki district is a treasure trove of forests and plantations. While you are here, you should not miss going for a bumpy ride seated atop a magnificent elephant and see the gentle giant follow the mahout’s instructions. As the elephant navigates through the jungles in Thekaddy and through many plantations, you get an open-to sky ride for viewing the water bodies, the hills and the vegetation around.
This Is an excellent place for getting to know elephants, take elephant rides, bathe them, feed them and get showered by them. It is a fun activity enjoyable for kids and adults alike.
If you love elephants this will be the best place for you. Here, you not only get to ride on the elephants but also take part in a number of activities involving them.
