Day wise travel itinerary

  • Day 1 :Ahmedabad - Delhi - Leh

    Arrive at Kushok Bakula airport, Leh situated at 3500m altitude, met by our representative at the airport and transfer to your hotel in Leh city 3 to 4 km. On arrival, check in at the resort and take full-day at rest to acclimatise yourself completely to the high altitudes of Ladakh which is a must. Introduction session & later Evening visit Shanti Stupa built by Japanese monks to promote world peace. Dinner & Overnight stay at Leh.

  • Day 2 :Leh

    Today Early morning witness & participate in the Monk Blessing at Thiksey monastery.  Later, one can have a very unique experience of Tea with the Nuns of Nyerma Nunnery. Interaction and short meditation session with the nuns there. Later return to the hotel, take breakfast. 

    In the afternoon take a short village walk or go by vehicle to Stok village and visit Local family house for learning and exploring traditional butter tea preparation. Every guest will taste local butter tea, learn how to prepare it and understand local family house setting. 

    Later Visit to women centric community weaving centre and explore Nomadic Textiles there.

    In the evening visit Hall Of Fame - (Museum Constructed by India Army) near Leh is worth a visit for every Indian, and Magnetic Hill which defies the law of gravity.

  • Day 3 :Leh to Nubra

    Today Morning after breakfast, check out from the hotel & then drive to Nubra Valley.  . The road journey from Leh to Nubra Valley passes over Khardung La (The Highest Motorable Road In The World) at 5,602 Mtrs / 18,390 Ft, around 39 km from Leh. From the pass, one can see all the way south over the Indus valley to seemingly endless peaks and ridges of the Zanskar range, and north to the giants of the Saser massif. 

    Nubra Valley is popularly known as Ldumra or the valley of flowers. It is situated in the north of Ladakh between the Karakoram and Ladakh ranges of the Himalayas.  the Shyok River meets the Siachen River to form this large valley separating the Ladakh and Karakoram ranges The average altitude of the valley is 10,000 Ft. above sea level. Enroute visit Diskit Monastery along with the 100ft tall Maîtrea Buddha statue. Later visit the silvery sand dunes with perhaps a Double humped Camel Safari. Enjoy the camel ride here and click beautiful pictures in the  rustic landscape of the Cold desert. Check in to the hotel. Dinner & Overnight stay at  Nubra Valley.

  • Day 4 :Nubra Valley - Excursion to Turtuk (164 Kms – 05 Hrs Approx)

    After having early morning breakfast, gear up to have another wonderful day in Hunder and Turtuk Village. The first destination you will head towards is the Turtuk Village. An amazing place to visit in Ladakh. Enjoy the landscapes and exotic views of the surrounding throughout the drive. Turtuk is a place where the population is under 4000. This place still has a majority of people following Islamic. This place was once under the control of Pakistan and people here speak Baltistani. You can explore the entire village, meet with people and enjoy your time here. You can take a stroll around the place, enjoy your time and click some pictures for your memories. Post a wonderful and enjoyable day, you will return to Hunder for dinner and an overnight stay at the hotel. Dinner &  Overnight at Nubra.

    Highlight : Enjoy the famous Maggi in the mountains and some local curry like Thupka & Pakora with Tea & Coffee.

  • Day 5 :Nubra Valley - Pangong Lake (160 km/ 6.30 Hrs)

    One of the most visited and enjoyable places in Ladakh is Pangong Lake. It is a humongous breathtaking lake that has everything you would have ever imagined. The abundance of beauty and high-altitude trill makes this attraction a go-to place for every traveler. To reach the lake, you have to cross various other attractions of Ladakh such as Chang La Pass, Shyok Village, Durbuk Village, and Tangtse Village. On arrival, you will have to complete all the check-in formalities. You will reach the lake in the afternoon which will give you ample time to enjoy the place. Later that evening, enjoy a romantic walk along the shores of the lake. Overnight at Pangong.

  • Day 6 :Pangong Lake – Leh (225 Kms – 6 Hrs Approx)

    Today Morning after breakfast, check out & then drive to Leh via Changla Pass 5486 Mtrs . Enroute visit Hemis Monastery & Rancho School.  On arrival check in at hotel. Dinner & Overnight stay at Leh.

    Highlight : Enjoy bonfire & some music to relax your senses after a long tiring day.

  • Day 7 :Leh

    Today morning is at leisure. Have a wonderful breakfast. Today is the last day of the tour and we enjoy it to the fullest and can have some unforgettable moments and memories.  Later afternoon visit to traditional women dress - dying and tailoring centre in Leh fully run by local women & one can have an opportunity to have a photo session wearing local women dress in Ladakhi style. 

    Afternoon Enjoy  the sumptuous lunch at one of the local café in Leh. Evening  free for shopping of some colourful stoles, gem stones jewellery, some items made of apricot and  souvenier. Return to the hotel. Princess, get ready for some  more fun today as it’s a last day of trip & to make it more memorable! Dress up in your best attire and flaunt your style. Fulfil your long time wish of walking the ramp. You never know, the crown may be yours!

    The Celebration ends with a delicious dinner accompanied with a glass of Non - Alcoholic Drink.

The Shanti Stupa in Leh is a marvelous white-domed Buddhist monument nestled atop a steep hilltop at a dizzying height of 11,841 feet above sea level. It is a religious place for the Buddhists as it holds the relics of Buddha, dedicated by the 14th Dalai Lama. It is also very famous amongst tourists as it offers a stunning view of Leh and the nearby Changspa village. Shanti Stupa looks extraordinarily beautiful during the full moon night when it is naturally illuminated by the moonlight. It is at a distance of about 5 km drive by road from the Leh city or one can climb 500 steps to reach The Shanti Stupa. The location of Shanti Stupa is such that it is visible from all over Leh city.

Shanti Stupa was built in 1991 by Japanese Buddhist - Bhikshu Gyomyo Nakamura. The construction was jointly done by the Japanese as well as Ladakhi Buddhists to mark the completion of 2500 years of Buddhism and to promote world peace. It is also part of the peace pagoda mission, which aims to spread peace through the preaching of Buddha. Shanti Stupa is a perfect getaway for both- those looking to obtain peace from offering prayers to God and those waiting to be mesmerized by nature's wondrous beauty.

Thiksey Monastery

Thiksey Monastery is a tibetan-style monastery nestled 20 kms south of Leh on Leh-Manali highway, constructed in 1430 AD belongs to the Gelukpa Order of Buddhism. The 12 Storey monastery is situated on top of a hill, giving stunning views of the town as well as the Indus valley below. The main attraction of Thiksey is the Maitreya Temple which houses a 15-metre high Maitreya Buddha statue. It is the largest such statue in Ladakh and it covers 2 stories of the building. Thiksey Gompa hosts the Gustor ritual, organized from the 17th - 19th of September month.

Thiksey consists of various white buildings that are arranged in hierarchical order, which stand out against the rocky golden brown hills. It reflects the Potala Palace in Lhasa, Tibet. Thiksey consists of 10 temples and is currently home to more than 100 monks. The monastery houses Buddhist stupas, swords, thangkas, wall paintings and statues. Other main attractions at Thiksey are Tara Temple, Assemnly Hall, Lamokhang Temple, Nunnery, Library and the rooftop.

Nestled at around 4 kms from Leh town on the Leh - Kargil Road, the Hall of Fame is a museum which was constructed in memory of the brave soldiers who lost their lives fighting for the motherland India at the India-Pakistan war.

As you pass through the OP Vijay Gallery, the museum showcases arms and amenities of Pakistani Army which were seized, along with pictures and biographies of brave soldiers who fought in that war. A section of the museum also exhibit Siachen area, exhibiting apparel and amenities used by the Indian Army in the region. The letters written by soldiers to their families, photographs clicked during wars fought in the region and a 30 minutes documentary on the Kargil War, are some of the highlights.  Apart from this, one can also witness items related to Local Ladakhi culture, their history, vegetation and wildlife found across the globe.

The famous Magnetic / Gravity Hill of Ladakh is a cyclops hill where vehicles go against the force of gravity and move upwards on the hill when parked at the marked location. To experience this curious, park the car in neutral gear in the yellow marked box a few meters ahead of the Magnetic Hill road. From this point, the car starts moving at a speed of around 20 km/h.

Even though there are some folklore regarding the mysterious magnetic hill, the fact is that the layout of the area and the surrounding hills give it an optical illusion. The downhill road appears to be an uphill road which leads to the car slowly and gradually gain momentum which appears to be going uphill against gravity when infect it is rolling downhill.

The Myth behind the Mystery of Magnetic Hill
We live in a strange world where sometimes there is no logical explanation of beliefs and illusions. It is believed that the hill has superpowers that transport the worthy to heaven. However, there is not one but two conceivable scientific explanations behind this majestic magnetic hill. 

The hill lies at a distance of around 30 kms from the town of Leh on the Leh - Kargil highway, at an elevation of around 4,260 mts feet above sea level. It is one of the major tourist attractions and an must do experience for all those who travel to Ladakh. An optical illusion or actuality, the Magnetic Hill in Ladakh has mysterious magnetic properties that attracts tourists from across the globe.

Recall Moments of the Movie - 3 Idiots at Pangong Lake

A mosaic of myriad shades of blue, the pristine Pangong Lake is perched at a height of 4,250 mts above sea level and is said to be one of the highest saline water lake in the world. Lying almost on the Indo-Chinese border, about 60% of it falls in China and rest in India, however you can see most of the lake. The beauty of the lake is such that it has been a cinematic backdrop for the blockbuster Bollywood movie - 3 Idiots. In fact, there is a 3 Idiots Point in the area, where the famous yellow scooter from the movie's climax is stationed. The lake is about 5 km wide at its broadest point and about 134 km in length. There are also a variety of camps that surround the banks of the lake which offer budget to luxurious accommodation to suit all kinds of pocket. The scenic landscapes, the serenity experienced and the shimmering water here all will leave you mesmerized.

Hemis Monastery

Hemis is nestled around 45 kms to the south of Leh on the western banks of the Indus River. The Hemis Monastery was built in 1630 and which is the biggest and very richly bestowed monastery of Ladakh. Magnificent and facinating, Hemis is different from the other important monasteries of Ladakh. The monastery is very well decorated on all 4 sides by colorful prayer flags which flutter in the breeze and send prayers to Lord Buddha.

The main building has white walls. The stones of the walls are very well embellish and painted with religious figures. On the northern side are 2 assembly halls, and as in most of the monasteries one can also see the guardian deities and the Wheel of Life here. The Hemis Monastery also has an main library of Tibetan books and a very impressive and valuable collection of Thangkas, gold statues and Stupas embedded with precious stones.

One of the largest Thangkas is displayed every twelve years during the Hemis Festival, held for 2 days in June - July. The annual festival, commemorating the birth anniversary of Guru Padmasambhava brings alive the courtyard of the monastery. The festival, where good triumphs over evil in a colorful pageant, also holds the annual 'bazaar' where local Ladakhis from remote areas buy and sell wares. During the festival, various rituals and mask dances are performed in this courtyard. Hemis is about 40 km from Leh and can be visited comfortably in one day if one is traveling by car or jeep.
