Philosophy of the Leh Ladakh tour: 

  • This destination is not recommended to clients suffering from Asthma & blood pressure. Also it is not advisable for the kids below 10 yrs due to high altitude. 
  • Food at the hotel is basic & the menu is also limited
  • Maximum 4 adults are recommended in one Innova.
  • Pangong stay is a tent accommodation & with very basic amenities. 
  • There is no heather facility at the tents. They provide hot water bags. 
  • There is no medical facility available at Pangong.
  • The roads for Nubra to Pangong are rough roads.

Day wise travel itinerary

  • Day 1 :Srinagar – Kargil (202 Kms | 6-7 Hrs approx.)

    Commence your journey in the morning from Srinagar and head towards Kargil. En route, explore Sonamarg, Zojila Pass (11,575 ft), Drass Village (2nd Coldest Inhabitant place in the World), and the War Memorial Hall & Museum. Reach Kargil by evening. Overnight stay in Kargil.

  • Day 2 :Kargil – Sham (150 Kms | 4-5 Hrs approx.)

    After breakfast, depart for Sham. On the way, visit Mulbek with its giant Buddha Sculpture on Rock Mountain, Lamayuru (the oldest Monastery of Ladakh), and witness the Moon-like landscape as you reach the Lamayuru Monastery. Lunch at Ule or Alchi. Enjoy the afternoon at your leisure. Overnight stay in Sham.

  • Day 3 :Sham to Leh (70 Kms | 4 - 5 Hrs approx.)

    Following breakfast, drive to Leh, making stops at Alchi Monastery, Sangam, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Hill, and the Hall of Fame en route. Arrive in Leh by afternoon. In the evening, visit Shanti Stupa and Leh Market. Overnight stay in Leh.

  • Day 4 :Leh - Nubra Valley (128 Kms | 4-5 Hrs approx.)

    After breakfast, embark on a drive to Nubra Valley via Khardungla (the Highest Motorable road in the world at 18,380 ft). Take short breaks at roadside cafes and scenic points for photography. On arrival, check in to the hotel/camp/guest house. Post lunch, enjoy a camel safari featuring double-humped camels unique to Ladakh and Mongolia at the Sand Dunes between Deskit & Hundur Village. Overnight stay in Nubra Valley.

  • Day 5 :Hunder - Turtuk - Thang – Hunder (190 Kms | 6-7 Hrs approx.)

    After breakfast, drive to Thang (the last village of India on the India-Pakistan border), captured by the Indian Army in the 1971 war. Enroute, visit Turtuk and Tyakshi. Overnight stay in Nubra Valley.

  • Day 6 :Nubra - Pangong Lake via Shyok River Road (150 Kms | 6-7 Hrs approx.)

    After breakfast, leave for Pangong Lake at 14,500 ft, with a drive of 6 – 7 Hrs. Arrival at the camp, enjoy leisure time and witness the color-changing lake and the sunset on its banks. Overnight stay at Pangong Lake.

  • Day 7 :Pangong Lake – Leh (Polo Match & Cultural Show ) (140 Kms | 4-5 hrs approx.)

    Early morning, enjoy the picturesque sunrise over the lake. After breakfast, drive back to Leh, with stops at Thiksey For  a traditional Ladakhi cuisine Lunch. After Lunch visit Thiksey  Monastery & Shey Monastery and continue the journey to Chuchot to witness an exhilarating traditional Ladakhi polo  match & Cultural show, showcasing the region's unique sporting heritage. Overnight stay in Leh.

  • Day 8 :Leh Airport Departure (4 Kms | 15 minutes approx.)

    In the early morning, transfer to Leh airport for your flight back to your destination. The journey comes to an end.

Mulbek with its giant Buddha Sculpture on Rock Mountain

Mulbekh Monastery in Ladakh, India, is renowned for its impressive rock-cut sculpture of Maitreya Buddha, also known as the "Chamba". This giant Buddha statue, located in the Sham valley of Kargil, stands at a height of approximately 9 meters (30 ft) and is carved into the cliff face. The monastery and its surrounding area offer a blend of Buddhist religious significance and stunning natural beauty. 

Mulbekh Monastery or Mulbekh Gompa, at 11,495 ft from sea level and 656 ft uphill from road level, consists of a 9 m (30 ft) tall Maitreya Buddha statue, 1400 CE kharosti language edicts on the hill, and two 800-year-old gompas: Serdung gompa of Drukpa lineage and Rgaldan-se gompa of Gelugpa lineage of Buddhism.
