Day wise travel itinerary

  • Day 1 :Varanasi

    On arrival at Varanasi Airport. Representative who will be waiting to greet you with a paging board with your name on. Alternatively known as Benaras and Kashi, the holy city of Varanasi (Banaras) lies on the banks of the Ganges. Said to have been founded by Lord Shiva himself, this place finds mention in the epic sagas of 'Ramayana' and the 'Mahabharata'. Most people conforming to the Hindu faith strive to visit Varanasi at least once in their lives.Adorned with epithets like 'the religious capital of India' and 'the city of temples', Varanasi is the holiest of holy cities for Hindus. Not only does the city attract countless pilgrims, it's a place where many choose to spend their last days. Belief goes that the one who dies here attains eternalsalvation.You will be transferred to your hotel. Later in the evening you will be taken to river bank of Ganga to see cremation rituals followed by witnessing the mesmerizing grand prayer (aarti) ceremony. Varanasi night prayer ceremony is a kind of Hindu way of worship, which is basically an event organized everyday to give thanks to river Ganges. Normally a Hindu worship is done privately, but this worship ceremony is done on the river bank of Ganges openly and publicly. It is only of its kind, therefore attracts thousands of people daily to witness it. This Hindu ritual of saying thanks is very unique and surreal. It started a few years ago but making its importance rapidly to the world. Almost 90 percent of the tourists who comes to Varanasi attend this prayer ceremony for sure. This grand event start time depends on sunset and therefore vary month to month. It goes for 45 minutes and is very engaging. Return back to Hotel for overnight stay.

  • Day 2 :Varanasi

    Varanasi boat ride at the time of sunrise from Dashashwamedh Ghat to Manikarnika Ghat is the most resplendent ride that takes you across heritage of Varanasi. This ride starts when the sun is just about to come up the horizon. As you glide across waters you can see entire river being engulfed in orange and red hues of the early morning Sun. On alighting at the burning Ghat you can see various cremation rituals. You can also witness people offering Tarpan to their ancestors.Later after this step into Varanasi old streets for walking tour. A guided walk in Varanasi old streets and through thousands years old alleys, holy temples will leave you mesmerized. Discover the sacred and oldest living culture of this ancient city with getting yourself into these old streets. A walk which promises surprise at every step is extremely rich in its insights and sights. This Varanasi walk takes place in Northern part of the Ghats, and will give real insights of Varanasi. With this walking tour one would be able to see Kashi Vishvanasth Temple, Famous Food Streets of Varanasi, KachuriGali, Perfume Market, Flower market, Silk Market, Soveniers Market and many countless things.  Return back to Hotel for breakfast. After breakfast visit Mother India Temple – A 3 digtal map of India. Very unique and only of its kind, Banaras Hindu University – Largest residential university in India and Asia, TulsiManas Temple – A former residence of late and great poet and writer Tulsidas, Monkey Temple – Very opposite to its name. It is a temple of GodessDurga having so much monkeys roaming on its roof.Later after some rest leave for Sarnath tour. Buddha owns favorite place, Sarnath is among the greatest tourist destinations in Varanasi &  has utmost importance in Buddhism religion and culture. Situated 10 kms from Varanasi, Sarnath has religious, cultural and architectural significance. It was in the Deer park in Sarnath where Gautama Buddha delivered his first sermon post-enlightenment. It is a place where from this religion and culture started. The place rose to its significance during reigns of Ashoka who erected numerous stupas here.You will see Ruins of Sarnath, Budhha Temple, large Buddha statue, Archeological museum and deer park.

  • Day 3 :Varanasi - Khajuraho

    Morning is free on your own.  Later in time, assisted transfer to the airport to board your flight to Khajuraho.
    Khajuraho – Translated as Khajuraho in Sanskrit, meaning date palm, has the largest group of medieval Hindu and Jain temples famous for their erotic sculpture. Today explore the Eastern and Western Group Temple complex dating to 10th century, a UNESCO world heritage site.  The tour of Khajuraho this morning concentrates on the erotic temples, which represent some of the finest examples of temple architecture in Northern India.  The remote location of Khajuraho meant that the temples were unharmed by Muslim invaders and as a result, the intricately fine carvings are in very good condition and are said to represent life in heaven. Overnight in Khajuraho.

  • Day 4 :Khajuraho - Panna - Khajuraho

    Today early in the morning shall proceed for visit Panna and enjoy shared jeep (Additional Cost) at the National Park. Panna National Park is situated in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh,at a distance of around 57 km from Khajuraho. The region, famous for its diamond industry, is also home to some of the best wildlife species in India and is one of the most famous Tiger Reserves in the country. The park is known worldwide for its wild cats, including tigers as well as deer and antelope. Due to its closeness to one of the best-known Indian tourist attraction in India, Khajuraho, the park is recognized as an exciting stop-over destination. After the visit drive back to your hotel in Khajuraho. Rest of the day is on your own. Overnight at Khajuraho.

    This day after Breakfast, transfer to Khajuraho Airport/Rly. Stn. for your flight to your home town. You return back with wonderful memories.

Khajuraho temples located in Chhatarpur district of Madhya Pradesh have several medieval Hindu temples. The sculptures and architecture of the temples are very famous and make Khajuraho a popular tourist destination in India. The temples of Khajuraho can be divided into Eastern Temple Group, Western Group Temple and Southern Group Temple. Kandariya Mahadev is the largest temple in Khajuraho dedicated to Lord Shiva. The height of the temple is 31 meters. Paintings of deities are very popular on the main temple.

Chaunsat Yogini Temple is the popular granite temple of Khajuraho dedicated to Goddess Kali. The Lakshmana Temple is dedicated to the Trimurti of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva, the temple is famous for three major idols of incarnations of Vishnu. The incarnations of Vishnu are Narasimha and Varaha. Vishwanath Temple is known as the three major images of Brahma.

Chaturbhuj Temple

At a distance of 3.5 km from Khajuraho bus stand, Chaturbhuj Temple is a historic temple located in the village of Jatakari near Khajuraho. Also known as the Jatakari Temple, the temple is counted among the southern group of temples in Khajuraho. The name is derived from the word 'chaturbhuj', meaning 'one with four arms'. Such is the case with the four-headed presiding deity of Lord Vishnu. Standing alone and serene on a high platform, it is the only important temple in Khajuraho facing west.

The temple is popular for its impressive architecture. It is the only temple in Khajuraho without any erotic carvings on the walls. This west-facing temple stands on a square platform, on which can be reached by ten steps. The elaborate entrance through the gate has beautiful carvings of Brahma, Vishnu and Lord Shiva. The temple has a 9 feet high idol of Lord Vishnu.

There the Ganges images can be identified by the presence of crocodiles and the Yamuna can be identified with the turtle at the bottom of the gate.

LaxmanTemple

Erected by the Chandela kings, the Lakshmana Temple is the first magnificent structures established in Khajuraho. This beautiful temple known as an architectural marvel is one of the largest temples established in the western wing of the Khajuraho complex. The temple is dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu and has the image of Vaikuntha-Vishnu.

The architecture of the temple is simply amazing and its outer wall displays images of over 600 deities. The lowest platform, called adhishthana, forms the base on which the 25.9-meter-tall Lakshmana temple stands. The rectangular structure of the Lakshmana temple is unique and there are subsidiary shrines at the four corners of its platform.
