Day wise travel itinerary

  • Day 1 :Arrive Bangalore airport depart for Kabini. ( 206 kms - 4 hrs)

    Kabini - Nestled in the southern fringes of the Nagarahole National Park, the Kabini is a perfect getaway for nature lovers. The breathtaking locale with the tranquil backwaters of the River Kabini presents an ideal setting for a long-awaited vacation.On arrival at Kabini, check into the hotel. Take lunch. Evening either take canter/jeep safari (at additional cost) or visit Kabini dam or spend evening at the beautiful resort. Dinner & Overnight stay at Kabini.

  • Day 2 :Kabini

    Today morning take canter/jeep safari to Nagarhole National Park or Boat safari (additional cost). 

    The Park has rich forest cover, small streams, hills, valleys and waterfalls and also has a healthy predator-prey ratio, with many tigers, Indian bison and elephants. This park was declared the thirty seventh Project Tiger tiger reserve in 1999. It is part of the Nilgiri Biosphere Reserve. Enjoy a coracle ride in Kabini River. It’s a traditional round shaped boat called a coracle. The design of the boat is unique to the rivers of Southern India (a must do experience)Lunch in the afternoon.Dinner & Overnight stay at Kabini. 

    Safari Information :

    The park is usually open from 6:45 AM - 8:45 AM in the morning and 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM in the evening. The timings for safari are 06:30 AM- 9.15 AM in the morning and 3:00 PM to 5:30 PM in the evening.

    There are 2 types of safari. Canter/Jeep safari & Boat Safari.

    Kabini safari cannot be booked online. One has to book offline at Dammanakatte Forest Department in Antharsanthe.

    One need to go at 09.30 am to buy tickets for evening 3 pm safari and by 4 pm for next day morning safari.

    Clients staying in any resort other than Kabini River Lodge (tourism resort) and Evolve back can only do canter/boat safari and to be booked by own after reaching Kabini. No jeep safaris are permitted to other resorts except the above two.  

    Approx. cost for canter safari INR 1500 per person for Indian Nationals, INR 2000 per person for boat safari. (Safari rates are subject to change)

    Today morning after Breakfast, Check out and Transfer to Bangalore Airport/Railway. It's the time to bid farewell. Drop at Banglore airport/Railway station, you retur  with the wonderful memories of Coorg & Kabini.

Nagarahole National Park And Tiger Reserve

Nagarahole is derived its name from Naga, means snake and Hole refers to as streams. The park is additionally referred to as Rajiv Gandhi park located in Kodagu and Mysore District. Kannada is that the local language round the park

Nagarahole Park is said as thirty seventh Tiger Reserve in India. it's also considered as World Heritage site by UNESCO. Three of the park namely Bandipur, Mudumalai & Wayanad Wildlife Sanctuary are adjacent to the Nagarahole

Bengal Tiger, Indian Leopard, Melursus ursinus , Hyaena hyaena are the predators which will be spotted within the park.

Herbivores like Elephants, Chital, Sambar Deer, and muntjac is additionally spotted round the park . Nagarhole park or Rajiv Gandhi park is found in Kodagu district of Karnataka.

The park is found to the north west of Karnataka’s Nagarhole park . the 2 parks are separated by the Kabini reservoir. The park gets its name from the streams. Naga means snake and hole means streams. Many wriggling streams are found during this park and, thus the name. The park has 47 streams, 41 artificial tanks, four lakes with water throughout the year, 4 perennial streams, a reservoir and a dam. There are several swamps during this region. This diverse landscape promotes the population of varied species of animals and birds during this region

Nagarhole park has the very best density of herbivores in Asia. This park is best for spotting elephants, guar, tiger and bear..

Different Areas within the Park :

The park is found during a place where the Deccan plateau joins with the Western Ghats. The park’s altitude ranges from 680m to 1,454m.

North – This region is bordered by Kabini river. are often "> this is often the most water source of the park and lots of mammals can be spotted near the banks. The region receives heavy rainfall and is roofed with forest. Moist deciduous forest are common here. Large herbivores are spotted easily.

South East – This a part of the park is dry and excellent spot for locating predators and also for birdwatching.

center – This region is legendary for the Kabini backwaters. it's the simplest spot for locating elephants and other wildlife. Gaur and deers are common here.

West – This region is roofed with mountains, streams, waterfalls and valleys. Bamboos and sandalwoods are common during this region. Tree dwelling animals are often easily spotted here.

Kabini Dam is located in Mysore city and its name is kept in the river called Kabini River, which is 696 meters in length and was built in 1974, and is a tributary of the River Kaveri. The dam is considered an engineering marvel of South West India, which is why it tops the list of places to visit in Kabini. The dam’s vast reservoir is a significant source of water for at around 22 villages and 14 hamlets in the state of Karnataka. It is spread over an area of 55 hectares covering forests, rivers, lakes and valleys.

The Kabini dam becomes an exotic location for nature lovers, the beauty such that nature looks glamorous and stunning. The picturesque surroundings lined with trees and crystal clear waters flowing gently, make this reservoir ideal picnic spot with friends and family.
