The elevated structures of the fort also provide beautiful panoramic views of the Medikeri town, which is undoubtedly stunning and beautiful.&nbsp;</span></div><div><br></div><div><span style="font-family: Verdana;">This ancient fort was first built in the latter half of the 7th Century AD on the occasion of declaring Madikeri as the new capital of Coorg by Mudduraja - who was the ruler at that time. The king had also built a mud palace inside the fort premises. In 1781 AD, the fort was constructed as a mud structure and was rebuilt in stone by Tipu Sultan and named the site as Jaffarabad. The possession of this fort passed through various custody after it was captured by Tipu Sultan. Consequently, there occurred significant changes in the structure and design of the fort as well. In 1834 AD the fort was captured by the British and then major part was made by them. At present, the Madikeri Fort houses the office of Madikeri's Deputy Commissioner, as well as other objects of interest to the visitors. These include life-sized elephants at the entrance, a museum, important artefacts and portraits.</span></div><div><span style="font-family: Verdana;"><br></span></div><div><p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:7.5pt"><b><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Inclusion :</span></b><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:7.5pt"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Entry Free</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:7.5pt"><b><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Exclusion :</span></b><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:7.5pt"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Guide Charges Extra</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:7.5pt"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">No Transfers</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:7.5pt"><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">No Meals&nbsp;</span><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:7.5pt"><b><span lang="EN-US" style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">Important Notes :</span></b><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;"><o:p></o:p></span></p> <p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-bottom:7.5pt"><span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">The rates may vary from supplier to s</span>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<span style="font-size: 10pt; font-family: Verdana, sans-serif;">upplier.
