Day wise travel itinerary

  • Day 1 :Guwahati (Assam)

    Arrive Guwahati airport and transfer to hotel. Rest free at leisure. Overnight in Guwahati. Guwahati, ‘The light of the East’ is the commercial capital of North East lying adjacent to the shores of the turbulent Brahmaputra. For guests arriving in the morning, enroute to hotel visit the Maa Kamakhya temple and Sankardev Kalakhetra.Situated on top of the Nilachal Hill, Maa Kamakhya Temple is the most sacred among the tantrik shrines of Shakti worship in the world. Kamakhya temple is also famed for the annual Ambubachi Mela held for 4 days  during monsoon season. There are images of Lord Ganesha, Goddess Chamundi and many dance fixtures. Situated on the Nilachal Hill, the temple structure resembles a Shikhara - a beehive.  Besides the main Devi temple, there are temples of 10 Mahavidyas in and around temple. These include  Bhuvaneshvari , Bagalamukhi,    Chinnamasta, Tripura Sundari,  Tara,  Kali,  Bhairavi,  Dhumavati, Matangi and Kamala Temples. Temple doors remain open for devotees in the following timings - 08:00 am to 01:00 pm & 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm.

    Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra is the cultural complex, named after the most revered Saint of Assam, Srimanta Sankardev and provides a glimpse into Assamese culture & heritage.  It has a cultural museum, library and various facilities for preserving, demonstrating and performing cultural items, besides a children's park within the sprawling premises. The Central Museum exhibits culture and heritage of different ethnic groups of Assam showcasing their dance, drama, music and art. Another famed attraction in the Kalakshetra is an Artistic Village. This Assamese village portrays the village life of Assam in the form of life like statues and model thatched huts.

  • Day 2 :Day Trip To Chandubi

    After breakfast, proceed for a day trip to Chandubi Lake as you drive through the emerald tea gardens. A local guide will take you for trekking in the jungles as you explore the waterfalls amidst rocks, enjoy boating (water activities like boating at additional cost). Enjoy an ethnic picnic lunch. Later return to Guwahati. Overnight in Guwahati.

<p><b>Timings : Any time during the day</b></p><p>The Nilachal Hill&nbsp; or&nbsp; Kamagiri hill situated at&nbsp; Guwahati is of remarkable historical, archeological as well as spiritual importance. This hill believed to be a 'Khasi' sacrificial website earlier, now has a set of historical temples on the pinnacle; the in large part eminent of them is the Kamakhya temple. The temple of Goddess Shakti or Kamakhya is the oldest and most respected centre for Shakti worship leading to the spread of the Tantrik Hinduism sect.</p><p>Its a scenic place and is famous for the Kamakhya Temple located on this hill.&nbsp;The Nilachal hill is a site of pilgrimage with temples dedicated to 10&nbsp; Mahavidyas: Kali, Tara, Sodashi, Bhuvaneshwari, Bhairavi, Chhinnamasta, Dhumavati, Bagalamukhi, Matangi and Kamala.</p><p>The Nilachal Hill also has a trekking route, if it interests one can contact the tour operator.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Exclusion :</b></p><p>Vehicle cost</p><p><br></p><p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><b>Important Note :</b><o:p></o:p></p><p> </p><p class="MsoNormal">The given sightseeing can be done if have hired vehicle for the full day or planning to take one.
