Philosophy of the North East tour:
- The North East tour involves long distance travelling & so this tour is strictly recommended to the passengers who can travel efficiently, people who are willing to travel long journeys during the tour & getting up early morning on all days during the tour to proceed for the sightseeing or next destination. The destination involves walking & climbing steps at the hotels & at all sightseeing places so people who are comfortable to walk can only opt for this destination.
- The food menu in the tour at the hotels gets repeated on most of the days because of the limitations in the vegetation. Enroute lunch options are very limited, basic in terms of food & ambience & also the lunch time cannot be maintained. It might get delayed due to mountain road traveling.
- The distance (kms) & hours of journey mentioned in the tour itinerary usually varies because of mountain road journeys. The narrow roads, landslides, snowfalls, traffic jams are the usual reasons due to which the journey hours gets stretch than what is mentioned in the tour itinerary.
- This destination has Long & Hilly road drives involved during the whole trip. Clients with Knee, back pain & motion sickness should note this.
- As per Government orders, vehicles used here will not have overhead carriers to store the luggage. Luggage will be stored inside the car only.
- It is strictly advisable to travel light. 1 medium size bag & 1 carry bag per person is allowed as per the transport norms.
- The Tempo traveler / Coach in this destination is modified as per the roads of this place & so the seats are narrow , Leg space is very less , seats are nonpush back & the middle row is also narrow.
- Most of the hotels do not have lift facility. Clients have to climb the stairs

- Day 1 :Guwahati - Tezpur(185 Kms / 4.5 Hrs)
After breakfast drive to Tezpur. Rest free at leisure. If time permits, visit Mahabhairav temple. Overnight in Tezpur

- Day 2 :Tezpur - Dirang (190 Kms / 5 Hrs)
Morning after breakfast, drive to Dirang (4910 ft). Enroute visit Tippi Orchid Centre, TDL Monastery, fruit garden. Check in Hotel. Evening at Leisure. Overnight at Dirang.
Note: Tippi will not be possible if we drive via Khalaktang

- Day 3 :Dirang - Tawang (145 Kms / 5 Hrs)
Morning after breakfast, drive to Tawang (10,000 ft). En route drive pass the unique Dirang Valley. Also witness the snowcapped Sella Pass at 13700 ft, Sella Lake and the Jaswant Garh War Memorial. Overnight in Tawang.
Jaswant Garh War Memorial : Legend has it that Jaswant (Mahavir Chakra Awardee (Posthumous) of 4th Batallion Garhwal Rifles), fought a lone battle against the invading Chinese during the 1962 war. His spirit is still believed to protect the place.
Sela Pass : @13700 ft, the Sela Pass is is snow-covered (full or partial) all through the year and has breathtaking mystic views. Close to the Pass is the beautiful Sela Lake, a heart-shaped lake chiseled between the mountains, which intensifies the beauty of the region. The Lake is mostly frozen in winter. The Sela Pass is the main route to access Tawang town and is located 78 km before reaching Tawang.

After breakfast, visit the Tawang Monastery, Urgelling Monastery, Buddha Statue. Later visit the War Memorial commemorating the bravery of the Indian heroes of the Indo-China war of 1962. Witness the light & sound show in the evening. Overnight in Tawang.
Tawang is the beautiful land of the Monpa tribes. 'The Land of Dawn-lit Mountains' at 3500 mts gives you unparallel purity of nature. The Tawang Monastery, also known as the "GALDEN NAMGYEL LHATSE" is one of the largest Lamaseries of Mahayana sect in Asia and is the largest of its kind in India. The Monastery is 400 year old and is adorned with the 18 feet high statue of Lord Buddha. It stands at 10,000 feet amidst the exotic Himalayan ranges and overlooks the Tawang-Chu valley. The Urgelling Monastery is located 5 km from Tawang city, and is the birth place of the 6th Dalai Lama, born in the 17th century. The monastery was established by the Lama Urgen Sangpo in the 15th century.

- Day 5 :Day Trip To Bumla Pass
After breakfast proceed for an excursion to Sangestar Lake, Bum La Pass and China Border (subject to permission from Indian Army). Overnight in Tawang.
The Sangestar Lake, or more popularly known as the Madhuri Lake, is about 20 kms from Tawang, enroute to the road leading to Bum La Pass. The lake is surrounded by the majestic snow-capped mountains and a marvelous valley offering spectacular views.
The Bum La Pass is one of the four officially agreed BPM (Border Personnel Meeting) point betweenIndian Army and People's Liberation Army of China for regular consultations and interactions between the two armies, which helps in defusing face-offs. The other BPM points in India are - Chushul in Ladakh, Nathu La in Sikkim and Lipulekh Pass in Uttarakhand.

- Day 6 :Tawang - Tezpur (390 Kms / 10 Hrs)
Morning drive Tezpur. Enroute visit the Jung Falls. Evening free at leisure. Overnight in Tezpur.
Jung Falls :The Nuranang falls (original name) @6000 feet is located about 40 km before reaching Tawang is famed as one of the most stunning waterfalls in North East India. The falls height is about 100 meters. The legend about the waterfalls goes that it is named after a Monpa girl Nura who aided an Indian soldier during the 1962 Sino-Indian War.

- Day 7 :Tezpur - Guwahati (180 Kms/ 3.50 Hrs)
After breakfast drive to Guwahati and visit Maa Kamakhya temple (Temple doors remain open for devotees in the following timings - 08:00 am to 01:00 pm & 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm). Evening enjoy river cruise on the Brahmaputra river (cruise charges additional). Overnight stay at Guwahati.

The Sangestar Tso, formerly called Shonga-tser Lake and popularly known as the Madhuri Lake, is located on the way from Tawang to Bum La Pass in Tawang district of Arunachal Pradesh, near Indo-China border above 15,200 ft above sea level.Sangestar Tso is located about 22 miles (35 km) north of Tawang and 4 miles (6.4 km) west of Bum La Pass, which is a border trading point between India and China.The Taktsang Chu river that originates below the Takpo Shiri glacier to the north, flows through this region. It flows west and then southwest to join the Nyamjang Chu river 8 miles (13 km) downstream. The Taktsang Gompa is within the area, 1.5 miles (2.4 km) to the west.

Bum La Pass
The Bum La Pass is a border pass between Tibet's Cona County and India's Tawang district in Arunachal Pradesh. It is 37 km away from the town of Tawang and 43 km from the town of Cona. The pass currently serves as a trading point between Tawang and Tibet.
1962 Sino-Indian War
The road to Bum La is also a historical route, the People's Liberation Army of China invaded India during the 1962 Sino-Indian War. Here in Bum La Pass one of the fiercest battle took place in the 1962 Sino-Indian War.
Opening of Trade Route in 2006
In 2006, Bumla pass was re-opened to traders for the first time in 44 years. Traders from both sides of the pass were permitted to enter each other's territories, in addition to postal workers from each country.

China Border
Nathu La is a mountain pass in the Dongkya Range of the Himalayas between China's Yadong County in Tibet, and the Indian states of Sikkim. But minor touch of Bengal in South Asia. The pass, at 4,310 m, connects the towns of Kalimpong and Gangtok to the villages and towns of the lower Chumbi Valley.
