Sikarakathi

The Hunting Tower is situated on the crest of the hill above Chatsworth House and is accessed via the footpaths and trails through Stand Wood; the views of the park are well worth the climb.

Originally, the Hunting Tower may have been a banqueting house or summerhouse and, as its name implies, it was also used by the ladies to watch the hounds working when hunting in the park below. Guests would have enjoyed the contrasting views to the west, with its ‘tamed’ landscape, including the house and formal gardens below and fields beyond.

Inside, a steep spiral staircase provides access to each of the four floors, with each room following the unusual exterior shape of the building.

Crocodile Breeding Centre & Museum At Dangamal

Visitors can now get a chance to witness baby crocodiles’ hatching, raising and releasing into river after they get older.

Though the crocodile breeding and rearing centre was built over two and half years ago, technical flaws in the building construction had kept it away from functioning.

Reconstruction of the centre was completed four months ago but it needed a second phase rebuilding which completed in this February after which the centre was opened for public.

According to forest department report, 42 baby crocodiles, 32 yearlings, 55 juveniles – a total of 129 crocodiles have been raising in 10 rooms in the breeding centre.

These square measure some photos of crocodilian, Snake, Dolphin skeleton which was found in Bhitarkanika Museum.
