Day wise travel itinerary

  • Day 1 :Cochin to Alleppey - (53 kms, 1 hr 30 Mins)
    Arrive Kochi also known as Cochin, is a city in Kerala state of south India. The city is popularly & adorably known as the “Queen of the Arabian sea” as it has one of the finest natural harbors in the world. Meet the assistance/driver and transfer to Alleppey. Alleppey – India’s Venice of the East check in to the houseboat traditionally called as ‘Kettuvallam’. Alleppey occupies a prominent place in the tourist map of Kerala interlocked with lakes and canals.Check into the houseboat by 12:00 Noon. It is the best way to explore the beauty of backwaters.  Start Lunch with Cruise through the Punnamada Lake, which is the venue of the famous Nehru Trophy Boat Race. As you start cruise, you will enter Vembanad Lake. Evening Tea/Coffee with snacks is served. Visit Chavara Bhavan which is the ancestral home of the blessed Kuriakose Elias Chavara. It is now a holy shrine and spiritual resort where thousands of devotees gather for prayer. Here, a 250 year old historically important beacon of light is preserved intact in its original and primitive form. The place is accessible only by boat. Anchor for night stay to the shores. Dinner and Overnight stay at Houseboat.

  • Day 2 :Alleppey Houseboat
    After breakfast, morning cruise starts. Visit Among the oldest churches in Kerala, the St. Mary’s Church or Champakulam Church in Alappuzha is believed to be one of the seven established by St. Thomas in AD 427. Situated on the western bank of River Pamba and view of Snake Boat which is used in Race. Lunch at Houseboat. By evening local village walk.  Catch of fish can be seen on the way. If interested you can buy them and get it cooked in the houseboat. Overnight stay at Houseboat.

  • Day 3 :Alleppey to Cochin - (53 kms, 1 hr 30 Minute)
    After breakfast, a cruise through narrow canals, you can see the life of the people staying near to these canals.  Check out after reaching on the shore by 9.30 am, transfer to Cochin Airport for your flight to your home town. You return back with wonderful memories of God’s Own Country.(The itinerary changes as per your time, schedule and the hotel area which you stay in)(Entry fees & activity cost to be paid directly wherever applicable)

Chavara Bhavan

If you are looking for a different place to get peace of mind, then do a Chavara Bhavan pilgrimage. Settled in the village of Kainakary which is 6Km from the Alleppey center, the Shrine is dedicated to Kuriakose Elias Chavara, a prestigious Catholic Pastor. He was the co-founder of the First Congregation for Men and the first major general in the Syro-Malabar Catholic Church.

The main feature of this shrine is the ray of light which is about 250 years old. The original house of Kuriakose Elias Chavara which is preserved in its original condition is another feature of this place. Every year, thousands of followers come here to pray.

Another best fact about this place is that this village is Kainakary which is surrounded by water. The only means of reaching this place is through boat. The serenity and serene atmosphere of the place makes this place perfect for spending some alone time.

St. Mary Forane Church

St. Mary's Syro-Malabar Catholic Forane Church, Champakulam, is located in Champakulam which is 16 km from the center of the city Alappuzha. St. Mary's Syro-Malabar Catholic Forane Church, Champakulam is a historic Christian church in Kerala. It belongs to the Syro-Malabar Church under the archaeology of Changanacherry. It is a Forane church with many remunerations. Champakulam Kalloorkadu St. Mary's Forane Church (also known as Champakulam Valia Palli) is one of the bygone Christian churches in India and the mother church of almost all Catholic Syrian churches in Alleppey district. It is believed to have been founded in 427 AD. The open-air rock cross at Champakulam Church is one of the bygone, with clear documentation dating back to 1151 AD. Many archaeological artifacts have been found around the church.
