A trip to Jaisalmer is incomplete without having a flavour of the immaculate craftsmanship of this haveli.This haveli is not just comprised of ornate elements; vengeance and envy is the core backdrop of its creation. Salim Singh was a cruel Diwan known and dreaded among the subjects for his cold-bloodedness.&nbsp; When he was a child, his father Diwan Swaroop Singh was betrayed and killed by royal officials in front of his naked eyes. This incident had an everlasting impact on him and shaped him as a vicious leader. After receiving the authority of a Diwan, he decided to avenge his father’s death by overthrowing the king. Guided by his envy and ambitions he made a larger than life and more lavish residence than the king’s. He commanded to construct two extra storeys in the haveli in order to make it as high as the fort, but this did not go down well with the king and he ordered demolition of them. Enraged by this, Salim started to despise the king more than ever. It is said that his over-ambitiousness was the cause of his demise. This chapter of Salim Singh is nowhere to be found in history books but stories of his feud with the king and construction of the haveli is an inseparable part of Jaisalmer’s oral history, which makes the construction even more intriguing and captivating.The salient features of the haveli will surprise you as it should. Who would have thought, a product of jealousy would be a timeless beauty. No water or cement has been used in the construction of this building. One of the popular gardens of Jodhpur is the Jodhpur Ummed garden. It is spread on an area of 82 acres. The famous Ummed garden of Jodhpur, Rajasthan was developed by Maharaja Ummed Singh. It is named after him only. The garden has five separate gates around it to facilitate entry to the garden from different directions. It has lush green lawns with beautiful roses and other seasoned flowers. Also inside the garden, is a museum, towering Ashoka trees, artistically designed fountains, a library and a zoo.Viceroy Willingdon inaugurated the zoo in the garden. At the time of its inauguration, the Ummed garden had lion, tiger, zebra, ostrich and an emu. There was separate cage made for monkeys. A 'Walk-in Aviary' in the zoo was constructed in the garden in 1978. The aviary houses different types of birds, local, African and Australian parrots, ducks, rabbits etc. All the birds and animals are kept in their natural environment. A descendant of Maharawal Jaisal Singh, the founder of Jaisalmer State, Jai Singh II (1688–1743), commissioned a dam to create a water tank during his reign in the early 18th century. This made the desert green in this area.After Jai Singh II's death on 21 September 1743, his son Lunkaran built a beautiful garden by the lake and a memorial chhatri cenotaph on a hill overlooking the lake. Later on, many more cenotaphs were constructed here for Lunkaran and other Bhattis. The last chhatri, meant for Maharawal Jawahir Singh, dates from the 20th century and remains unfinished after Indian independence.

The entrance of the temple is adorned with a statue of Meera Bai, the great devotee of Lord Krishna. To the left and right of this, there stood the statues of Lord Hanuman and Namdeo, a saint. The idol of the presiding deity, Lord Krishna is place inside the garbhagriha.</div><div style="text-align: justify; "> </div><div style="text-align: justify; ">There is temple named as Achal Nath Shivalaya in front of it. Nanak Devi, the wife of Rajput king Rao Ganga, built the temple, whose construction was completed in the year 1531. This ancient shrine comprises three main halls - garbhagriha, mandap bhavan and kirtan bhavan. All these parts of the temple are made using carved Chhitar Stone. There is a large water reservoir called Bawari in the temple, which was made near the Shivlinga. It is known as Ganga Bawari.</div>

This was our first trip at abroad, we were having lots of questions with us how will be the company, will get Jain food and many more but with flamingo the answers was yes we got best company and excellent food all over the trip. We didn't only get Jain food but we got full Gujarati dish "Shikhand Puri", "Pani Puri", "Puran Puri", and many Indian dishes, it was really very surprising for us. The hotels provide by them for stay were also so good. The tour manager Devarshi Mam itself was so supportive. We never realized that tour manager is with us she was like our family member. She was so friendly by nature and knowledgeable person to guide us. Thanks to FLAMINGO.It was our excellent dream trip. I would rate 5 stars out of 5.

He always tried to serve the best food and at the proper time.
