Dazzling Korea

Gamcheon is a colorful village located on the foothills of a coastal mountain. Long ago, during the Korean War, Busan was a place where refugees ran off. There was nothing when some people moved to Gamcheon. They were also very poor. Then the residents started to work and earn some money. They continued buying bricks and built up the village. Gamcheon was only one district in 1950, but now it has nine.

It is formed by houses built in staircase-fashion on the foothills of a coastal mountain, earning this village the nickname "Machu Picchu of Busan." Many alleys that cut through this community are vibrantly decorated with murals and sculptures created by the residents, once a dilapidated neighborhood that housed refugees following the Korean War, was transformed in 2009, when the government’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism launched an initiative to turn the area into a creative community. Under the theme, “Dreaming of Busan Machu Picchu,” painters and sculptors added their artistic touch to the streets, homes and businesses of Gamcheon. Nowadays, tourists flock here to marvel at some of the most beautiful street art in the country.

The old name of Orokdo Skywalk is "the end of the word." The word seungduma is said to look like a saddle, and the nuns and the locals called it jalokdok.Seongdu-mal, who admires the sea, sailed six islands in Orukdo Island in turn, and the bulging part of Seongdu-mal went ridged to make a dock and a hill of an estuary. It was also the boundary point between the East Sea and the South Sea. It was started on September 12, 2012 and opened on October 18, 2013.

Join us on a journey to explore the main attractions of Busan! And finally, get photogenic at the famous Gamcheon Culture Village, also known as the Machu-Picchu of Busan! Will head back to drop off point around 5:30pm and arriving back to the center Busan around 6:30pm.
