Geography in Canada

Canada is the second largest country in the world – second only to Russia and yet sparsely populated. Most of this land mass is not very suitable for habitation and a large part of its population is concentrated in a small land mass. Canada occupies top half of the continent of North America and shares its border with the United States to the south. It is flanked by Pacific Ocean on the West and Atlantic Ocean on the East. As you go higher up towards the north, the temperatures go lower and weather conditions become harsher. Lower down from East to West is the more vibrant, livable part of the country that is huge enough to make room for all kinds of natural and man-made wonders. The West Coast has the province of British Columbia which is the most mountainous part of the country. Rocky Mountains is another beautiful hilly range replete with dense forests. In between are lush green valleys and further to the east are the Canadian Prairies. Central Canada has important provinces like Ontario and Quebec and some pristine lakes.
