Day wise travel itinerary

  • Day 1 :Arrival NJP / IXB - Gangtok

    Gangtok  (5412 Ft / 1650Mts, 130 Kms / 04 to 05 Hrs Drive)

    On arrival at New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB) (413 Ft / 126 Mts), you will be met by our local representative, who will assist you to board the vehicle to Gangtok. On reaching Gangtok, check in and overnight at hotel.

  • Day 2 :Gangtok - Excursion to Tshangu Lake & New Baba Mandir

    Tshangu Lake (12400Ft / 3780 Mts / 43 Kms / 02 Hrs Drive one way) & New Baba Mandir (13100 Ft / 3994 Mts / 18 Kms / 01 Hrs further drive from Tshangu Lake). Today after breakfast, start for full day excursion to Tshangu Lake & New Baba Mandir. Return back to Gangtok. Overnight at hotel.

    Note: 

    1. Documents for Tshangu Lake & New Baba Mandir – 02 Passport Size Photo along with Photo Copy of Photo ID Proof (Passport or Driving License or Voter ID (Pan Card & Adhaar Card is not accepted). For Children below 18 years, School Id / College Id are a must. Original to be brought with self while travelling.

    2. Incase visit to Tshangu Lake is not possible, due to landslide or any other unforeseen reasons, alternative sightseeing will be provide.

    3. Process for Foreigner, OCI & PIO Card holder are completely different, kindly inform us well in advance to plan out the itinerary accordingly.

  • Day 3 :Gangtok

    Gangtok (5412 Ft / 1650 Mts)

    Go for a full day sightseeing of Gangtok covering Bakthang Waterfalls, Tashi view point, Ganesh Tok, Flower Show, (Closed on Saturday & Sunday, Local Festival and State & National Govt. holidays), Nam Nang View Point and Ban Jhakri Water Fall  Back to hotel & overnight at hotel.

  • Day 4 :Gangtok - Pelling

    Pelling (5500 Ft / 1675 Mts, 116 Kms / 05 to 06 Hrs drive)

    After breakfast, checkout & then transfer to Pelling. On reaching Pelling, check in and overnight at hotel.

    1. Detour for Buddha Park at Ravangla (8000 Ft / 2439 Mts). 

    2. Detour for Namchi Chardham (4314 Ft / 1315 Mts).

  • Day 5 :Pelling

    Pelling (5500 Ft / 1675 Mts)

    After breakfast, proceed for Pelling local sightseeing covering Pemayangtse Monastery, Chenrezig Statue & Skywalk. Post lunch, proceed for sightseeing of Rimbi Water fall, Khecheopalri Lake & Kanchanjunga Water fall. Overnight at hotel.

  • Day 6 :Pelling - Darjeeling

    Darjeeling (6710 Ft / 2046 Mts, 125 Kms / 05 to 06 Hrs drive)

    -  After breakfast, checkout & then transfer to Darjeeling. On reaching Darjeeling, check in and overnight at hotel.

  • Day 7 :Darjeeling

    Darjeeling (6710 Ft / 2046 Mts)

    *Early morning at around 0400 am (subject to clear weather) for visit to Tiger Hills (8482 Ft / 2586 Mts) to view the sunrise over mighty Kanchendzonga Peak (Third highest peak in the world). Back to hotel for breakfast. 

    After breakfast go for a half-day sightseeing of local Darjeeling covering Peace Pagoda, Tenzing & Gombu Rock and Panoramic tour of Tea Estate. Back to Hotel, Overnight at hotel.

    - After breakfast transfer to New Jalpaiguri Railway Station (NJP) / Bagdogra Airport (IXB), for onwards connection.

Baba Mandir - The mystic spot of Sikkim

Located between Nathula and Jelepla Pass at an altitude of 13, 123 ft and about 52 kms from Gangtok, Baba Harbhajan Singh temple which is popularly known as Baba Mandir.
One usually covers this temple along with a visit to Tsongmo and Nathula Pass. This temple is fascinating history and rich culture. The local people are of the opinion that Baba Harbhajan Singh still guards the international boundary India and China. Explore this historic beauty and get a good understanding about the different faiths and religions . 

 The story behind the temple is sentimental for many. Harbhajan Singh was part of the Punjab Regiment as Sentry. He was posted at the China border as part of the border patrol force. It is said that in October 1968 he disappeared without a trace. People have contemplated and many stories have been doing the rounds. The most popular among them is that he drowned. Harbhajan Singh used to escort mules that carry provisions. He could have fallen in a stream and drowned. A fellow sentry personnel had a dream about him after a few days and asked him to construct a memorial in his name
The sentries build a tombstone and a few years later a temple was built on it. It is believed that Harbhajan Singh’s spirit is still alive. They pray and wish that Harbhajan Singh will protect them when they traverse the difficult terrain.

Tshangu Lake - The glacial lake of Sikkim

Tsongmo Lake is surely one of the most beautiful landscapes in Sikkim. On the Gangtok- Nathu La Highway Tsomgo Lake is at an altitude of 12, 400 ft. Also known as Changu Lake.

It is regarded as a very sacred place by the local Buddhists and the Hindus. The lake is the resident of migratory birds and the brahmini ducks.  From winters to mid- May the lake remains frozen. In the summers, Tsongmo derives its placid waters from the melting snow of the mountains around. 

 Tsomgo is revered as a holy lake by the people of Sikkim. Rides on colorfully decorated yaks and mules are offered at the lake site, which also has a variety of eating stalls serving snacks and beverages. Snowboots and gumboots can be hired here.

Bakthang Waterfall

The Bakthang waterfall is only 20 minutes drive from Gangtok town to a place called Swastik, adjacent to the army cantonment area.

Bakthang Waterfall is on the way to the popular Tashi View Point. Bakthang Waterfall is not vertically imposing. However, its broad horizontal flow is what makes it extremely beautiful. Fed by the Ratey Chu (river) that originates at a staggering 12,500ft, this waterfall is the perfect pit stop whether you’re travelling alone or with the family.

In local language ‘Bak’ means a forest and ‘thang’ meaning meadow or place. The natural spring water source of this falls originates from the dense vegetation above this site which is preserved as a Smriti Ban by the Forest Department. This site is little away from the crowded market place and hidden from the urban sprawl. A offbeat place to relax and be completely free from pollution, noise and dust and much loved by many of the domestic visitors.

 The place also offers a cafeteria for tea and snacks and local photography services to take pictures with local costumes and dresses for visitors. Some of the adventure enthusiasts can also try rappelling down the cliff on a prefixed rope which is organized by the local tourism committee of the area. The local taxis conducting daily sightseeing tours of Gangtok include this spot as one of the points of interest to visitors.

 Important note : 

  • Make sure you don’t get too close to the waterfall as the ground get slippery around here.
  • Since Bakthang Waterfall is located by the roadside, make sure you keep an eye on passing vehicles while gaping at the beauty of the falls.

Flower Exhibition Center - Ridge Park

Flower Exhibition Centre, which is situated in Gangtok, showcases flowers from the different parts of Sikkim together under a single roof which makes it a heaven for all the nature lovers. Located right across the White Memorial Hall and below the Ridge Park, it lies at a walking distance from the MG Marg. 

At one end and below the Ridge Park is the Flower Exhibition Center which holds the annual Orchid show. Inside the area is not very large but it has amazing collections of flowers of many different types, If you are a flower lover, then this is the place for you.

Best time is between March to June when the Orchids are in full bloom and put on display.

  • Plucking flowers or leaves is strictly prohibited.
  • No smoking and public drinking is allowed in the park or at the flower center.

Tashi view point

Suggesting Time : - 06:00 AM to 18:00 PM

This charming little Tashi View Point is a perfect place to witness the brilliant surroundings like mountains, valleys and Gangtok itself. This famous tourist point is located at a distance of 8 km from the town and is mostly known for offering some of the best sunrise and sunset views.

One can witness the changing of colours of the Kanchenjunga and Siniolchu Peaks as the sun slowly moves from this view point along with the glimpse famous monasteries of Gangtok, Phodong and Labrang. 

Tourists can enjoy refreshing drinks while relishing the stunning panorama and can also buy souvenirs from the shops set up here.Tashi View Point is a noteworthy place for nature lovers as one get an opportunity to spend some peaceful time away from the bustling crowd amidst the resonating sound of birds and breeze.

Tashi point also has cafeteria where you can eat snacks and drink warm tea while at looking the beautiful view.

The best time to visit this attraction is from March to June, it is when the weather is pleasant and warm.

Banjhakri Falls and Energy Park

At a distance of 7 km from Gangtok SNT Bus Station, Banjhakri Waterfalls is a scenic waterfalls located inside a landscaped park in Gangtok. Situated near Ranka Monastery.
Banjhakri Waterfall is a natural waterfall cascades down from a height of about 70 feet. The lush green surroundings of the waterfalls make it more beautiful and alluring. The word 'Banjhakri' means woodland shaman. According to legend, the ethnic tribes of Sikkim have a lot of faith in their local occults called Jhakris who have healing and magical powers and can influence the spirits to bring about good and evil.
Spread over an area of 2 acres, Banjhakri Energy Park has been built near the falls. Also known as Energy Park, the gardens have been beautifully landscaped around the waterfalls and the place is further adorned with several statues of Banjhakri, Lyam Lymay, Mangpas and Lepcha ancestors. The star attraction of the place is the foot bridge built over the water stream and a dragon splash which adds to the excitement and fun.
One can also make a quick visit to the Ranka Monastery as this place lies on the route to the falls. The place is perfect for enjoying a walk and spending some time amid tranquility with friends and family.
The best time to visit the falls is between the month of October and February.

Do Drul Chorten Monastery

Do-drul Chorten is a stupa in Gangtok in the Indian state of Sikkim. The stupa was built by Trulshik Rinpoche, head of the Nyingma order of Tibetan Buddhism in 1945. Inside this stupa is a complete set of Dorjee Phurba, Kangyur and other religious objects. Around the stupa are 108 Mani Lhakor or prayer wheels
