Day wise travel itinerary

  • Day 1 :Arrival Njp Railway Station/(Ixb) Bagdogra Airport - Gangtok

    On arrival at NJP Railway Station / (IXB) Bagdogra Airport, (413 Ft / 126 Mts) will be met by our office Executive who will assist you to board your vehicle to Gangtok (5412 Ft / 1650 Mts, 130 Kms / 04 to 05 Hrs). Check in and over night at Hotel.

  • Day 2 :Gangtok

    Go for a full day sightseeing covering Rumtek Monastery, Jhakri Water Fall, Do-rulChhorten, Research Institute of Tibetology(Closed on Sunday, 02nd Saturday, Local Festival and State & National Govt. holidays), Directorate of Handicraft & Handloom (Closed on Sunday, 02nd Saturday, Local Festival and State & National Govt. holidays) and Flower Show. Overnight at Hotel.

    Note :

    If the sightseeing points like Research Institute of Tibetology& Directorate of Handicraft & Handloom are falling on Sunday, 02nd Saturday, Local Festival and State & National Govt. holidays then we will include Nam Nang View Point and Enchey Monastery as an alternative sightseeing.

  • Day 3 :Gangtok - Tshangu Lake & Baba Mandir Excursion

    NRI, OCI, PIO Card holder & Foreign National are not allowed to visit Baba Mandir&Nathula Pass. They are allowed to visit till Tshangu Lake, with a valid permit. They also have to be 02 & above in number to visit Tshangu Lake. For further details, click on ENTRY FORMALITY & DOCUMENT REQUIREMENT. For Tshangu Lake &Nathula Pass there is no refund, after the permit is confirmed by Sikkim Tourism, due to whatsoever reason (Land slide, Heavy rain fall, VIP Movement, Health issue etc).

    After breakfast, in the morning, start for excursion to TshanguLake (12400 Ft / 3780 Mts / 43 Kms in 03 Hrs one way from Gangtok) & Baba Mandir (13100 Ft / 3994 Mts / 16 Kms in 01 Hrs one way from Tshangu Lake. Situated at a height of 12400 Ft / 3780 Mts / 43 Kms in 03 Hrs one way, with an average depth of 50 ft. The cool water of the Lake is perfectly attuned with the scenic beauty around. Back to Gangtok and Overnight at Hotel. (Incase of Landslide or due to any other reasons if Tshangu Lake is closed then an alternate sightseeing will be provided)

  • Day 4 :Gangtok - Pelling ( Enroute Visit Ravangla )

    After breakfast complete the check out procedure & proceed for Ravangla . On arriving Ravangla one can visit the Tathagata Tsal (Buddha Park), spend around 2 hours and get a chance to know Buddha whole life span. 130-foot-high (40 m) statue of the Buddha, erected to mark the 2550th anniversary of the birth of Gautama Buddha, as its main attraction. Later proceed towards Pelling(5500 Ft / 1675 Mts, 116 Kms / 05 to 06 Hrs). Overnight at Hotel.

  • Day 5 :Pelling

    After breakfast we proceed for Pelling sightseeing covering Pemayangtse Monastery, Chenrezig Statue & Skywalk. After early Lunch proceed for sightseeing of Rimbi Water fall, Khecheopalri Lake (6000 Ft / 1829 Mts)&Kanchanjunga Water fall. Overnight at Hotel.

  • Day 6 :Pelling - Temi ( approx 3 hrs )

    After breakfast we proceed for Temi . On arriving Temi , one can enjoy stunning Tea Garden, Explore Tea Factory & gain knowledge how tea processing, North-East longest Zip Line ( at own cost ). Dinner at Overnight Stay at Temi.

  • Day 7 :Temi To Kalimpong ( Enroute Visit Namchi ) ( approx 3 hrs )

    After breakfast transfer for Kalimpong . Enroute visit Namchi. On arriving Namchi one can go for the Darshan at Char Dham Temple, Sai Mandir. Now proceed for Kalimpong.  Overnight at Hotel.

  • Day 8 :Kalimpong - Darjeeling

    Today after Breakfast visit Dello hills, Flower Nurseries, Jang-Dong-PalriffoBrang and Durbin Dara Hills. Transfer to Darjeeling (6710 Ft / 2046 Mts, 70 Kms / 03 to 04 Hrs), Overnight at Hotel.

  • Day 9 :Darjeeling

    Early morning tour to Tiger Hills (8482 Ft / 2586 Mts at around 04:00 AM) to view sunrise over Kanchendzonga Peak (subject to clear weather). On way back visit Ghoom Monastery, Batasia Loop. After breakfast go for a half-day sightseeing of Japanese Temple, Peace pagoda, Padmaja Naidu Himalayan Zoological Park & Himalayan Mountaineering Institute (Closed on Thursday, Local Festival and State & National Govt. holidays), Tenzing&Gombu Rock, Tibetan Refugee Self-Help Center (Closed on Sunday, Local Festival and State & National Govt. holidays),& panoramic view of Tea Estate. Overnight at Hotel.

    Note:

    If the sightseeing points like Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and Zoological Park falling on Thursday, Local Festival and State & National Govt. holidays then we will include Dali Monastery and Ava Art gallery as an alternative sightseeing.

    If the sightseeing point like Tibetan Refugee Centre falling on Sunday, Local Festival and State & National Govt. holidays then we will include Ava Art gallery as an alternative sightseeing.

Baba Mandir - The mystic spot of Sikkim

Located between Nathula and Jelepla Pass at an altitude of 13, 123 ft and about 52 kms from Gangtok, Baba Harbhajan Singh temple which is popularly known as Baba Mandir.
One usually covers this temple along with a visit to Tsongmo and Nathula Pass. This temple is fascinating history and rich culture. The local people are of the opinion that Baba Harbhajan Singh still guards the international boundary India and China. Explore this historic beauty and get a good understanding about the different faiths and religions . 

 The story behind the temple is sentimental for many. Harbhajan Singh was part of the Punjab Regiment as Sentry. He was posted at the China border as part of the border patrol force. It is said that in October 1968 he disappeared without a trace. People have contemplated and many stories have been doing the rounds. The most popular among them is that he drowned. Harbhajan Singh used to escort mules that carry provisions. He could have fallen in a stream and drowned. A fellow sentry personnel had a dream about him after a few days and asked him to construct a memorial in his name
The sentries build a tombstone and a few years later a temple was built on it. It is believed that Harbhajan Singh’s spirit is still alive. They pray and wish that Harbhajan Singh will protect them when they traverse the difficult terrain.

Nathula Pass – The most mesmerizing spot of Sikkim

Nathu La, one of the highest motorable roads in the world and is the mountain Pass in Eastern Sikkim, on the Indo Chinese border that serves as the trade link between India and China.

It nestles at elevation of 14,140 feet that ranks amongst the highest passes accessible by tourists via motorable road. The another side of Nathula pass is Chumbi Valley of Tibet. This mountain pass is one of the oldest trading border posts connecting Tibet and India.

Nathula Highway is the most beautiful mountain roads of the world. Explore this beautiful highway which sets in the heart of Sikkim. Gangtok-Nathula pass is a charming ride full of adventure with deceptive roads and high altitude winds. 

Best time to visit: Summer  - Best months of May to October are the appropriate season to visit here.
In Winter time It remains fully covered under snow and the temperature drops down to -25 º Celsius

Note: 
  • Nathula Pass is open only for Indian nationals on Wednesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays and Sundays. 
  • A valid permit to visit Nathu La Pass is given to only Indian Nationals. The permit is obtained by applying to the Tourism and Civil Aviation Department. This can be done with the help of a registered travel agency. Valid identity proof and two photographs are necessary for the same.
  • The cost for Nathula Pass Permit is Rs. 200/- and children below 4 yrs do not require the permit.
  • Vehicle cost Rs 6000 per vehicle cost for nathula pass. 
  • The above sightseeing vehicle is pre-bookable but the rates may vary from season to season. The rates given are just for reference and planning purpose only.

Rumtek Monastery, also called the Dharma Chakra Centre, is a gompa located in the Indian state of Sikkim near the capital Gangtok. It is the seat-in-exile of the Gyalwang Karmapa, inaugurated in 1966 by the 16th Karmapa.

Tshangu Lake - The glacial lake of Sikkim

Tsongmo Lake is surely one of the most beautiful landscapes in Sikkim. On the Gangtok- Nathu La Highway Tsomgo Lake is at an altitude of 12, 400 ft. Also known as Changu Lake.

 It is regarded as a very sacred place by the local Buddhists and the Hindus. The lake is the resident of migratory birds and the brahmini ducks.  From winters to mid- May the lake remains frozen. In the summers, Tsongmo derives its placid waters from the melting snow of the mountains around. 

 Tsomgo is revered as a holy lake by the people of Sikkim. Rides on colourfully decorated yaks and mules are offered at the lake site, which also has a variety of eating stalls serving snacks and beverages. Snowboots and gumboots can be hired here.

Banjhakri Falls and Energy Park

At a distance of 7 km from Gangtok SNT Bus Station, Banjhakri Waterfalls is a scenic waterfalls located inside a landscaped park in Gangtok. Situated near Ranka Monastery.
Banjhakri Waterfall is a natural waterfall cascades down from a height of about 70 feet. The lush green surroundings of the waterfalls make it more beautiful and alluring. The word 'Banjhakri' means woodland shaman. According to legend, the ethnic tribes of Sikkim have a lot of faith in their local occults called Jhakris who have healing and magical powers and can influence the spirits to bring about good and evil.
Spread over an area of 2 acres, Banjhakri Energy Park has been built near the falls. Also known as Energy Park, the gardens have been beautifully landscaped around the waterfalls and the place is further adorned with several statues of Banjhakri, Lyam Lymay, Mangpas and Lepcha ancestors. The star attraction of the place is the foot bridge built over the water stream and a dragon splash which adds to the excitement and fun.
One can also make a quick visit to the Ranka Monastery as this place lies on the route to the falls. The place is perfect for enjoying a walk and spending some time amid tranquility with friends and family.
The best time to visit the falls is between the month of October and February.

Namgyal Institute of Tibetology

One of its kind in India and the third in the world, the Namgyal Institute houses the largest collection of Tibetan works outside of Tibet. The institute houses a museum, a research centre and a library, and is based in Deorali, south of Gangtok, 5 km away. 

Since its establishment in 1958, the Namgyal Institute of Tibetology has sponsored and promoted research on the religion, history, language, art and culture of the people of the Tibetan cultural area which includes Sikkim.

The museum in this nstitute has one of the world's largest collected works and exceptional manuscripts on the theme of Mahayana Buddhism.  And besides these amazing collections, the museum also houses more than 200 Buddhist images, thangkas, statues, shrines, paintings, wall-hangings, masks and other religious works of Tibetan Art.

Do Drul Chorten Monastery

Do-drul Chorten is a stupa in Gangtok in the Indian state of Sikkim. The stupa was built by Trulshik Rinpoche, head of the Nyingma order of Tibetan Buddhism in 1945. Inside this stupa is a complete set of Dorjee Phurba, Kangyur and other religious objects. Around the stupa are 108 Mani Lhakor or prayer wheels
