Geography in Punakha

Punakha Dzong is situated at the intersection of Mochhu River and Pochhu River in Punakha Valley with a height of 1,463m.Punakha District is one of the 20 dzongkhags (areas) involving Bhutan. It is circumscribed by Thimphu, Gasa, and WangduePhodrang Districts. The overwhelming language in the locale is Dzongkha, the national language.Over portion of Punakha District (the gewogs of Chhubu, Goenshari, Kabisa and Toewang) exists in Jigme Dorji National Park, one of the secured regions of Bhutan. The dzongkhag likewise contains organic passageways along the Thimphu District border.
