Tempozan Harbor Village with Kaiyukan Aquarium
Tempozan Harbor Village is an entertainment and shopping complex centered on Kaiyukan, one of the world’s largest aquariums. The aquarium, shops offering Osaka souvenir and gift items, restaurants serving Osaka specialties, Ferris wheel are sure to keep everyone entertained all day.

Kaiyukan is one of Japan’s most spectacular aquariums, world-renowned for its innovative presentation. Kaiyukan shows the aquatic animals of the Pacific Rim at their most vibrant and dynamic, by recreating the natural environment of their habitats.
he aquarium features marine life exclusively found in the “Ring of Fire” – the area of the Pacific Ocean in which most of the world’s earthquakes and volcanic eruptions occur. There are more than 15 large tanks, and each recreates a different environment of the Pacific Rim, thereby giving visitors a glimpse into all aspects of life deep within the Pacific Ocean.
The large variety of fish and sea life – 30,000 creatures belonging to 620 species to be exact – includes seals and sea lions from Monterey Bay in California; penguins from Antarctica; capybaras from Ecuador; and dolphins from the Tasmanian Sea.
It will take most visitors about two and a half hours to see everything in the expansive aquarium, which begins on the eighth floor and ends on the fourth floor by way of a spiral ramp that gives one an impression of actually descending into the depths of the ocean.
Tempozan Ferris Wheel
No trip to Tempozan Harbor Village would be complete without a ride on the enormous Tempozan Ferris Wheel, which at 112.5 meters high and 100 meters across, is one of the world’s biggest Ferris wheels. A ride on the wheel gives super dramatic views over Osaka bay. The wheel is also illuminated each night in colors which signify the next day’s weather forecast, red means the next day will be sunny, green means it will be cloudy and blue means it is going to rain!
