Dambulla Cave Temple

The rock temple of Dambulla is situated at 47 miles to the north west of Kandy, the last capital of the Sinhalese kings. The relic of this place has been authentic by the presence of pre-Christian inscriptions in Brahmi character. It is one of the most impressive and one of the eight UNESCO attractions this small island offers up are the incredible Dambulla Caves. Sitting on the top of a 160 meter high rock, these five caves cut in have been a pilgrim’s destination for centuries. There are five caves inside, each with a different interior and statues-however numerous individuals on a quick look would accept they are pretty similar. Buddha pictures were first made here more than 2000 years back, and throughout the hundreds of years resulting rulers added to the decorated the cavern craftsmanship. From the caverns you will get astounding perspectives over the encompassing field.
