Why Is the Palace of Versailles Famous?
- Royal History: If you are planning a trip with France tour packages, Versailles is a popular place to visit. It is closely linked with King Louis XIV and the French royal family.
- Hall of Mirrors: The Hall of Mirrors is a 73-metre-long gallery with 357 mirrors. The Treaty of Versailles was also signed here in 1919.

Tips before Exploring the Palace of Versailles
- Keep several hours for the visit because the estate is much larger than the Palace alone.
- Buy the Passport ticket. It covers the palace, gardens, and both Trianon estates, and is better value than buying separate tickets if you plan to see it all.
- Wear comfortable shoes, especially if you plan to explore the gardens.
- Check whether Musical Gardens or Musical Fountain Shows are scheduled on your visit date.
- Consider visiting the Trianon estate if you have enough time.
- Carry water, particularly during warmer months.
- Check official ticket and opening information before you begin you trip to France.
