Travelling to Ladakh can be really adventurous. There are two road routes that will take you there i.e. Zojila pass and Rohtang pass. The routes open for driving in around May and close in September. The Zojila pass is connected to Srinagar and Rohtang pass is connected to Manali. The ride can get really tiresome and is not advisable for people who don’t prefer thrill and adventure. The option to this scary ride is a taking a flight to the district capital Leh. The view from the flights is breathtaking.

2. Acclimatize your body:

The air in Ladakh is quite thin as compared to the lower altitude lands. The altitude is as high as 10,000 ft above the sea level. People with altitude sickness are recommended to take proper medication in advance. It is highly recommended to everyone to stay indoors on the first day of the trip in order to get acclimatized in the air. In case you develop altitude sickness symptoms like nausea, coughing, breathlessness, loss of appetite, consult a doctor.

3. Carry some medication:

Always carry a medical kit with yourself with basic medicine for nausea, headache and fever. People with heart ailments and high blood pressure problems should refrain from visiting without a doctor’s consent and should keep the medicines stocked up at all points of time. Keep yourself hydrated at all points of time.

    Best time to visit Leh Ladakh would probably be like around November to January start it is one of the most charming places to see I have visited there for like 3 days and 4 nights and my experience there was incredible. It is heaven and the food is also delicious. Thanks for this wonderful article.
