To reach Ban Gioc Falls – you must first reach the nearest city to this falls – Cao Bang. Now you need to figure out transport options to reach Cao Bang. If you are in Hanoi then you can travel to Cao Bang by road. You can either opt for a private or a public mode of transportation. On average, the road journey would take seven to eight hours. Once you reach Cao Bang, from here you can either rent a bike or opt for group tours, or local buses. They are available once every hour at Ban Gioc Waterfall. Remember that you have to pay parking fees for the private vehicle option.
There is never a bad moment to go because the waterfall never runs dry! However, September through October is thought to be the best time to visit Ban Gioc Falls. It’s also when the waterfall appears to be the clearest and bluest, with lovely, green rice fields all around. If you want to view the waterfall at its full force, visit between May and August, but be prepared for strong downpours, especially between May and June. The water will also be more brown and murky at this time, which may influence your experience. The rainy season, on the other hand, brings out the best in the neighboring Tiger Cave, as a river rushes inside it. The Vietnam weather gradually improves from July.
