·         The maximum weight allowed for paragliding activity in Dalhousie is 110 kg. Anyone above the age of 110 kg will not be allowed for the activity.

Kalatop Khajjiar is located at the 2,500 meters above sea level an animal sanctuary at Kalatop and Khajjiar in the Chamba district and famous for trekking trails. and is known for the lush green surroundings and snow capped Himalayan peaks .

The sanctuary has a beautiful terrain, typical of outer Himalayas.  A long level walk from Dalhousie to Khajjiar gives us the best of panoramic vistas this wonderful place have in store for us. The flora and fauna of the region is best appreciated by walk rather than drive. The lonely path often treading into the dense woods of pines and cedars livened by the singing birds, is a trek worth taking and will remain a favourite for regular trekkers and honeymooners.

Kalatop is a soft trek ex-Dalhousie, off Khajjiar Route. The is a half day trek is via thick forest and there are excellent Himalayan views on offer on a clear day.

Trekking distance is  6 kms and guide cost Rs 1000 Approx.

Dainkund peak is a 5km trek starting from Dainkund basecamp which is Lakkadmandi.The route to the peak is covered with a dense forest of fir and deodars. The woods, gently squeeze the trail and there will be times when you will be walking over, or between fallen trees. Reach the ridge at the end of the forest from where it's a one and a half kilometer stretch to the peak.


After reaching the top, visit Pholani Mata Temple and stay here for a few hours and relax with the scenery. Enjoy the landscape views around while moving forward and click hundreds of pictures while enjoying the 360-degree view of Dalhousie ad snow-clad peak of Dhauladhar.

 

After soaking in the views, start walking down to the endpoint. The trail ends at a bifurcation near the Dainkund viewpoint. The whole trekking journey would be ending at around 5 PM.

 

Best time to visit:  summer season between the months of March to May.( During these months, the trekking trail is livelier and has magnificent scenery. The temperature is also pleasant during this time.)

Experience the rush of wind while soaring through the clear skies of Bir Billing - known to be the paragliding capital of India. It attracts adventurers from different cultures and ages and offers a chance to glide over the Dhauladhar ranges, lush green fields, the beautiful water streams, and nature's bounty.

Paragliding in Bir Billing can be enjoyed between September and June. During the months of November and December, beautiful snow-covered landscapes can be enjoyed while paragliding. Paragliding is closed during the months of July and August due to the monsoon season.

Though there is no age limit for paragliding, if you are under 18, you are not allowed to fly without your parents. As to the weight, you can enjoy paragliding as long as you do not weigh over 120 kg.

Manikaran is a major pilgrimage and its hot water springs draws a lot of attraction. You will find this spot around 45 km from Kullu, at an altitude of 1760 m above the sea level

The sulfur water shower is famously known in the place. It is a pool of water that gets heated naturally/geothermally as it emerges from the Earth’s crust. The water is said to have healing properties. The hot water springs in Manikaran cover a region of around 1.2 kms and is situated on the banks of Parvati River which flows across the town.

The food is being cooked here for most of the time in the large utensils. People take small amount of rice and cook them in the Spring here and take it back with them. It usually takes 15-20 minutes to cook.

Also you can find here sikh gurudwara and Hindu temples.

Manikaran Place is concatenated with Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Legends hold it that once while roaming through the Parvati valley, Shiva and Parvati came across the place called Manikaran and they decided to stay for a vacation. During this, Goddess Parvati lost her Mani one of her precious stones in the waters stream. On Lord Shiva’s order, Sheshnag (Serpent God) hissed thereby giving rise to a flow of boiling water. Results in, the water spread over the entire area resulting in the emergence of precious stones Goddess Parvati. Therefore, this temple got the name- Manikaran, which is now a top pilgrimage site and among the best Kullu & Manali tourist places.

A Gurudwara is also fixed here, named- The Guru Nanak Devji Gurudwara which is also popular as Manikaran Gurudwara and is linked with Guru Nanak. The gurudwara has a langar that offers free food. Kulant Pith is a nearby spot situated in Manikaran is which is considered to be the most sacred pith across India.

Ramchandra Temple is very near to Manikaran Temple which is the one of the renowned temples of Kasol in Himachal- Pradesh. Maha Shivratri is celebrated among local residents and ardent devotees of Lord Shiva who come a long way for the commemoration. 

Manikaran has a pleasant weather throughout the year. The best time to visit Manikaran is from December to March, as taking the dip in hot boiling water would be an amazing experience when the whole valley is covered with snow.

Nestled at a distance of 23 Km from Shimla in Himachal Pradesh, the Golf Course in Naldehra is the oldest golf club in India. The golf course stretches over an extensive area surrounded by trees at an altitude of 2,200 metres. It is a par 68, 18-hole course with 16 greens and 18 tees.

 

In the year 1905, Lord Curzon was captivated by the beauty of the region and so he made his favourite camping site just outside the British summer capital of Shimla. What he made in 19's is now considered as one of the most scenic golf course in the country. Also, it is believed that in the memory of his stay he named this place as Alexandra Naldehra, which was the name of her theird daughter.

 

Naldehra Gold Course remains open from April to November as the weather is quite pleasant.
