South Africa is one of the most beautiful gifts that god has given to the mankind. The nation is full of different colors of fun, adventure, peace, serenity, history, nature and flora and fauna. South Africa is believed to be home to some of the most beautiful beaches and not just that! It is also home to the ‘Big Five’: Lion, Leopard, Elephants, Cape Buffalo and the Rhinoceros. Along with its varied wildlife, South Africa is known for the diversity of people. This is the reason why the country is known as the “Rainbow Nation”.

The Flamingo Family loves South Africa. Here are some glimpses of my experiences in South Africa.

Trust me; I did not regret it at all.

I understand that after an exciting and adventurous day, you need some good food and better sleep. So, to ensure that you get the right food and place to rest your head, I visited some cosy abodes which usually have 20-30 rooms along with kitchen facilities.

So, you can rest assure, Flamingo makes sure that you get the right cosy and homey rooms at the end of an adventurous day.

South Africa is a raw beauty. It is best explored in the most authentic way. One of the most authentic ways to explore the Rainbow Nation is on the road. The splendid landscape around is to die for!

After a good sleep at one of your peaceful accommodations, the best thing to do is to set out on a drive along the beautiful landscape of South Africa. It is really convenient to drive in South Africa as the roads are really good and you drive the Indian way there as well.

3. Jungle Safari:

South Africa is often used as synonymous to the Jungle Safari. It is a beautiful experience to see the wildlings in their natural habitat.

Very rarely do people get a chance to see the majestic king of the jungle roaming in his home. It is one of the most beautiful sights that you’d ever see in your lifetime.

I got to witness the ecstatic pleasure of the king and queen together and it was a delight.

Not only the Lion, all the animals that you will get to see on your safari ride will leave you stunned because each and every one of them are beautiful and what is the most exciting things if to get to see them in their own dwelling.

Giraffe

I got to witness the Giraffe, Elephants, Ostriches and antelopes. Many of these animals are very rare to find and that makes me believe that the Jungle Safari was the highlight of my trip.

4. Waves of change:

South Africa is the land where dignitaries like Nelson Mandela and Gandhi worked towards making this world a better place to live. It is our responsibility to make sure that the dreams of these luminaries don’t go in vain.

While exploring the flora and fauna of South Africa, I came across the humanity that lies in the South Africans. I encountered “Waves of change” which was founded by Tim Conibear to work for kids of violent home background and teach them to surf which helps them to discipline them to the mainstream of life. The organisation operates with the help of volunteers in Cape Town and Port Elizabeth.

It is a delight to see a great concept that is changing the lives and thus making sure that the ideals of Nelson Mandela are not going in vain. With everything that has enriched South Africa, it has become one of my favorite places on the planet.
